Second bike advice
I've done all my training on my P5 for years now (inside and outside), except mountain biking in the off season. I feel it's time to get a new second bike to train on rough roads, in the rain, on occasional gravel path, for hill climbing, etc.

I'm on a very tight budget. I have too cheap options available now:

1. Specialized Crux Pro, Zipp 303 tubbies, Sram Red.
2. Cervélo RS Ultegra Di2, Durace C24 wheels with 28s.

Both bikes from 2010-2012 era in great shape and same price. What should I get? Disc brake bikes are too expensive at this time for me.

Thanks for your advice.

Be like all the cool kids and get a gravel bike. It’s what I did back in November and am loving it so far. Four hour ride last weekend with 3 cars.

Neither of those are very good options. I'd say the Crux, but tubulars on a training bike is a poor idea. I've bought several disc brake bikes for me and my wife new for under $800, with 105 or tiagra. The disc brake cx or gravel bike is so versatile they are great "second bike" options. If you ride in the rain frequently, disc brakes (esp hydro) are a gamechanger.

Take a look at Bikesdirect.com

My gravel bike is from there, tiagra level, bb5 disc brakes total cost was $800 or so. Depending on your size you could get a titanium gravel bike for under $1300 right now.

Why do you need Red, Dura Ace, Zipp etc. on a bad weather training bike if you're on a tight budget? AL wheels, Apex/Rival/105 would be much easier on a tight budget. I would put priority on a little newer bike and hold out for disk brakes.
