The 10 Laziest Cities in America
I'm not surprised to see some of these cities on the list, but a couple do mildly surprise me, I have to admit. Oh, and Detroit's apparently the 4th-laziest city. I'M FUCKING SHOCKED! REALLY!

"Which cities in the United States have the most number of people out of work - and refusing to get a job?

We looked at Census data, taking into account number of hours worked, percentage of the population who works, and how many people went to college.
We defined 'employed' by the number of people who are working, or looking for work. Not people collecting disability, who are collecting unemployment, or who are retired or too young to work."

Your wish is my command:

10. Cleveland (Is it still "The Mistake by the Lake"?)

9. Pueblo, CO (It's gotta be the legal weed)

8. Paterson, NJ (Lotta goombahs there, right?)

7. Hartford, CT (I used to live in CT. Great natural beauty, great roads. But it's apparently beginning to circle the drain, and Hartford's leading the way)

6. Waco, TX (If they're not engaging in gun battles with ATF, they're having shoot outs with cops and motorcycle gangs...)

5. Buffalo (Mildly surprising, I have to say)

4. Detroit (I'm absolutely NOT shocked by this one)

3. San Bernardino, CA (Another one that mildly surprises me)

2. Springfield, MA (Isn't the Basketball Hall of Fame there? That's about all I know about the place)

1. Dayton, OH (What's the deal with this, and what the hell did Dayton ever do to anyone?)

Actually it is a well done video and humorous. Worth a watch.

It shows people are lazy. Just imagine if everyone got free healthcare, food, housing.... How many more cities would would end up like these..

Work is more than a pay check, it fosters independents, raises self esteem, and overall betters families, communities...
So many people think they are too good to take a crappy job, so they manipulate to go on the dole.
Wrong attitude- If you are low skilled get a job learn from it and move up.

Enabling people only leads to a dependency, low self esteem, low expectations, bitterness, and a weak work force.

I thought it was the liberals who were supposed to be elitists. Ragging on cities who economies tanked and saying people should just become uber drivers is about as elitist as they come.

I think you have lost your mojo. What you write now isn't offensive. It is worse. It is boring. Break character every now and then. Write something that throws us a curveball or gives a unique perspective. There is no reason to read your long posts because it is obvious what you will say before you start.

At least you usually write your own BS. Now you are promoting a guy that is even beneath your usual standards.

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

I have no fucking idea what you're talking about. Did I criticize any of these cities, or why they might be "lazy," in any really serious way, like a certain other poster did here in this thread? I just thought it was interesting, is all. If you have a problem with the dickhead who did the video, take it up with him, not me.

Did you watch the video? The only stat he relies on to call cities lazy is the percentage of people participating in the work force. Now I was told for 8 years that Obama sucked as a president because that percentage dropped after the 2008 debacle. It isn't interesting. It is lazy click bait.

He is an irredeemable dickhead. You are not. Break character. It will feel be liberating.

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

I thought this too. I thought Dayton was clear Trump country as well.

I got this impression too, about saying people are lazy so go lookup all the "rake my leaves" or "Uber driver" or "sell your kidney" kind of Craigslist job postings.

Nowhere there did I say go around and hand out cash. I'm just pointing out the mockery of a video it is.

Also, the opioid thing is sick because a lot of rich doctors and pharma pushed that shit on people knowing very well how addictive it was. And it's ruining places. Lots of those people were productive citizens with jobs before an injury winds up with that prescription and it goes down the road to OD death.

Also, it's a very "capital friendly" statement to try to pull off an average hours worked stat. People died and got their heads cracked open by cops in the late 1800's in violent strikes to obtain the 8 hour day.

If we're about family and Christian values and "being present" as parents for school children......how you do that if you call a 35hr/week average "lazy". That stat is probably even deflated by jobs that send people home on less than full time work/shifts. If 40 is the legal basis of "overtime", then how is a statistic deflated by jobs not offering "40" being lazy?

It's really elitist douchebag clickbait.

This video wasn't intelligent at all. And think about how many shares it probably got among people that will eat up the "you all are lazy" drum beat.

We can have more intelligent conversations about how to best train and mobilize our workforce, and once they make their money.....how to tax it and use that.
