I know its a very petty thing, but it always bothered me when someone says "I saw you jogging yesterday". Um I was going at a sub 7 min mile pace, I don't classify that as jogging.

My daughter was mountain biking with a friend near Golden, BC when a mountain lion crossed the trail in front of them. Sort of like the time wife and I were mountain biking with our dog. Our dog ran off into the forest when the next thing a black bear crossed the trail in front of us followed by you guessed it - our dog happily wagging his tail and wanting to play. Fortunately our dog returned and without the bear.




































*The cat was a juvenile but that kind of takes some of the steam out of the story so we won't talk about that...

I was running at a local city recreational area a few years back and encountered a big black bear. I heard it off in the woods as I was running down a dirt road. It was running in the same direction I was going but at about a 45 degree angle away from me. It was going up a hill and stopped a couple of times to take a look back at me before it crested the hill and dropped out of sight. Got the heart rate up a little.

Black bear? He was likely more concerned about you then you were about him.

They recovered the cat's body next to the stuff the guy left behind at the scene. They're going to perform a necropsy, so yes it happened. Dude is a badass.
