I'm disappointed.

I am actually suprised by the poll. It is a small sample and those on the ST are a small sample. In most companies now there is no single medium for marketing and disemminating information it is all about Multi /Omni Channel communication with your customer base. If you are trying to grow Tri the email that the 40 plus crowd prefers is not the text or instagram preferred by the 20 something.

Also conspicuously absent is two tin-cans connected together with a piece of string.
then again...maybe that's just a "fancy" phone call.

You’re so old school; I was hoping for a drone-dropped message.

I offer folks to call them or them to call me if they have questions not easily answered in dm email

I don't fully get the question. Is it asking about a specific triathlon that I signed up/ paid money for? Or is it asking how we prefer to get our triathlon (industry) news?
If it's the former, where is the option for "Race Website", which would be my choice?
If it's the latter... I'll stick with 'stumble upon it at my leisure'.
Take a short break from ST and read my blog:

I can’t vote because it’s not clear whether this is information like “wetsuit legal/ swim cancelled/ bike course modified” or “you can save $20 on our next race if you sign up today!”.
The point is, ladies and gentleman, that speed, for lack of a better word, is good. Speed is right, Speed works. Speed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

How does 'bike courier' not make the list?

If it's a message to be given in the couple days preceding the event, assuming participants are already in town, I would vote for smoke signals.
Alternatively, spot lights with X (swim is cancelled), O (wetsuit legal) or the outline of a bat (the Joker has cancelled the whole damn race) would do, too.

Push notifications are just the absolute worst. Not surprised. I would take the aforementioned arrow before a push notification.

and yet... push notifications from an app not as yet downloaded is scoring 3rd. nobody likes what they don't know or haven't yet seen. the world we live in today is not a great landscape for those who hold strong opinions and are dead certain they're right.

But it’s a triathlon candygram, so the candy is vegan spirulina ketogenic candy.
