Does this look like a stolen bike?

I saw this on facebook. The bike pictured is a Diamondback Haanjo EXP, which is carbon frame and fork, 3x9 gearing, drop bars.
The guy clearly doesn’t know what he’s got. What do you think?

It's probably a scam designed to take advantage of people like yourself that wonder about it.

Pic is stolen from here: http://www.roadbikereview.com/...dventure-bike-review

For the price, it's pretty fair but it looked like someone stripped the components and swapped in some crap, if I'm reading the specs correctly.

I wasn’t taken in. I was just looking for that frame and happened on this. I figured it was stolen and the person didn’t know what they had, but your explanation makes more sense.

Same as the vehicle shipping scam on CL.

They bait you with a good price, then you email them and they say they can't meet but are willing to ship the bike. You pay money, they ship nothing.

I found a P5 on CL locally for a good price. Then the whole shipping bit came up. I told them I was totally willing to drive 250 miles one way for the bike. Never heard back again, lol.

I didn't meant to imply that you were taken in by it. Your post shows your obvious (and well founded) skepticism. But someone else might think it's a price that is too good to be true, and it is.

Or you could be right. It could be stolen, and they swapped parts on it to make it "unique".

Either way, too many red flags.

That bike is only about 10 miles from here. It might be interesting to call to see what the response is.
