Best/smallest/cheapest bike camera

I had a near-miss on the bike yesterday. Long story short, going at speed (52km/h) down a long hill with a gradual bend at the bottom. As I came round the corner, a car was coming at me on my side of the road. A bus (private) was also coming at me on the correct side of the road, so the only option was to go head-to-head with the bus and swerve back into my lane once the car had passed me. It was all over in matter of seconds.

Car didn't stop, just carried on his merry way.

Just wish I had it on camera so I could go to the police with it. Bus might have had a camera on it, but I didn't get a chance to see the markings, so no idea where it came from.

I don't want to spend loads on the camera, just looking for something small that would get the basic info in a case like this.

Cheers...

If you search for "action camera" in Amazon you'll see many cameras under $75.

I've been interested in a camera for riding and did some research. My conclusion is you get what you pay for. So if you go cheap don't be surprised if the video quality for action/moving shots isn't good enough to make out a license plate when both you and the offending vehicle are going a good clip in speed. Spend the extra money on the nicer ones that do a good fps and at least 1080p (4k would be nice but man, it takes a lot of memory).

I was interested in the Cycliq Fly6 and Fly12 and almost pulled the trigger on a used ones for the earlier gen stuff (didn't have any lights so 2 birds with 1 stone I thought). Didn't because the seller was honest and didn't like the video quality of the older gen Fly6 and picked up an HD version instead (older was 720p and newer I think is 1080p).

In the end I think once I get around to it I'm going to spend the money on a GoPro Hero Session 5 or the Cycliq HD Fly6/12. But, I've shelved buying that stuff as I got permission from the wife to do another upgrade to my (road) bike and funds are going towards that currently.
