Unlike Lionel Sanders, Tim Don is actually in the Boston Marathon and is crushing it.

Just a couple of weeks after having his Halo removed, Tim Don is through 5K at the Boston Marathon in 18:10. Way ahead of his goal pace for 2:50. Amazing.

hmmm.... he is 7 minutes overdue for his 15k split. I'm concerned he's dropped out. Maybe just a missed chip reading though.

OK, looks like it was just a missed timing mat. He's through 20k. His average pace has slowed to 6:09 but still way ahead of 2:50 pace. The crazy wind and rain must be having an effect.

He's coming unglued at the end. Might still dip under 2:50.

Edit - maybe he stopped in the last mile to hug his family or something :)

and the slowest winning times in decades with windchill in the 20s, pouring rain, and headwinds.. that effort would be well under 2:40 on any ordinary day.. bravo Tim !

+1 great news!

I was gutted when I read some news articles right after the Kona incident that suggested it could be a career-ender. Glad to see he's come back stronger than ever because he was looking really strong beforehand and could still have his best yet to come!

Babbitt interviewed him on YouTube....Don could not turn his head fully to the right. He has massage on neck area and passed out from pain breaking up some of scar tissue. Remarkable achievement; hope he fulfills his journey.
