Small and XSmall Premier Tactical 2.0
Hoping for your in-put.

We have just about completed the XS Tactical. This was designed to give riders 5'5" and shorter a really great handling triathlon bike. It's built around 650c wheels and is proportioned just right. Based on your in-put I opened molds for 50 mm front and rear, 88 mm front and rear and a rear disc wheel - so you will have all the options. Crank length will be specified at 155 arms.

The molds are all done and the frame is now in physical testing. Hoping for bikes in May.

Colors: we currently do not do a lot of decals but we include a red, blue and white options. http://www.premierbike.com

I was thinking I should include another color for the XS. I asked some female athletes at last weeks TBI conference and they all said "pink".

Any preference??

FWIW, I refuse to let anything pink on my bike. ;-)

That is a really nice bike you've got going there.

No coasting in running and no crying in baseball

I, on the other hand, agree 100% with the athletes at TBI and vote for pink. Almost all of my SFQ kits include pink and I love to coordinate my bike with my kits.

For me, the slate gray looks great. I like hues in gray

Thank you specifically but thank you "all" for your input.

We currently apply our decals to a black matt carbon bike before we clear coat it. Would you prefer that the pink, gray or other be on a painted frame? Maybe white with color or do you think these colors would look good on the black matt carbon frame?

Thank you.

Wow - just got in to town to see our first XS. Unbelievable. If you are 5'6" or below this bike is for you - but only if you want a rocket ship. No rear storage but dual info-crank power meter standard. Standard Continental GP 4000 II 650 tires in 23 mm. 155 crank arm legs. Ceramic BB, optimized chain, Ultegra DI-2 R8000, 88 mm front wheel and disc or 88 rear.

I can't wait to finish the build tomorrow. 10 minutes :-)

I know not everyone cares about a bike that fits shorter athletes. But if you are 5' 6" or shorter you have probably never know what its like to ride a bike that actually fits you, has proper geometry, a bike that handles right, a super bike that is fast and adjustable.

Agree! And on behalf of the "under five-two" crowd, I have to say I do not think even this bike will fit me without major modification to the front end -- stack of 500 is quite a bit higher than my current bike, which was then further modified by Slowman et al. :(

Dan,

I have been following your XS development for awhile! Thanks for making this bike for the womenfolk/shortfolk.
I was disappointed that there is no storage box behind the seat. That is really crucial for long-course athletes.

Right now I'm on a 48cm PRSix (700cc) with 155 cranks.

My suggestion- make a 700cc version of the XS that has a box. I know, the stack wouldn't be as low- but you could still get it down to 480. Then you would have an XXS and XS that should cover most of the vertically challenged.

I and alot of women hate pink! So feel free to offer a second bike in pink or purple or whatever easter egg color, but NEVER get rid of basic black.

Cheers :)

I appreciate your comments.

We still include two standard spaced water bottle cage mounting receivers in the back of the frame below the seat - in addition to the two on the top tube for bento box and the normal hydration locations on both the seat tube and down tube.

Those two on the back can be used for either hydration or a spares kit location like the larger size Tactical's. There was not enough room between the tire and top tube to use the same design - like the current standard. I will be looking at alternatives which will add that feature to the XS.

The XS comes in black with either red, white, blue or pink decals to choose from.

A bike smaller than our current small and larger than our current XS developed on a 700 c platform would require compromises in ride quality. Rather than do that I am working on a kit for spares on the current XS.

A long course athlete can also use the Delta 300 or similar to add rear hydration/concentrate in addition to a BTA up front and course re-fills if they do not want to mount bottles in the other two locations inside the triangle.
