how to unsee the water boy

hopefully i'm not running afoul of the rules with this. there's a certain user that who thrives on unwinnable conversations, page views, post counts, and playing the perpetual victim. i found a chrome plugin called CustomBlocker. if you install it, copy the settings below into a text file, and import them into this tool through the preferences, that person's topics and forum replies (but not replies to his replies) magically disappear. enjoy!!

You know that you can just click on a user's name and select "hide users posts", right?

the plugin isn't mine. it took all of a few minutes to configure it though. that was pretty exciting though ;)

It is a big button. Click their name next to a post, control F - Hide ...there you go.

haha would you look at that :)
for some strange reason "jkatsoudas"'s profile had been set to hide for me already (which is strange because it showed his reply) and it was only showing "Show user's posts" on his profile page for me. It seems that option only works on the thread list and not inside the threads?

So ... I guess this is still an upgrade? ;-)

But if someone quotes the hidden post in their reply you will be able to see it, now if someone comes up with some code to block that I'll be impressed.

I attempted to hide water boy’s posts too, but for some reason it was already set to hide. I don’t recall doing that - maybe slowman helped us all!

that's pretty easy to do. i figured i'd start small. i worried that blocking replies to his replies might make conversations a little to choppy. you can import this to hide those too

I think this is a bug with the website. When I tried to hide waterboy's posts, the button also showed that they were already hidden. I toggled it on and off again, and voila! Now I am free of the silliness.
