Kissing leads to failed drug test
Gist of the story (see link), Gil Roberts showed probenecid in a drug test. However, the arbiter cleared him after hearing how he had been kissing his girlfriend (who was taking the drug for a sinus infection). Not the first time this excuse has worked. Shawn Barber (Canadian pole vaulter) popped positive for cocaine but he was cleared because he had been kissing the escort he'd hired the night before.

Some of the comments at the bottom of the article are pretty funny.

"Human existence is based upon two pillars: Compassion and knowledge. Compassion without knowledge is ineffective; Knowledge without compassion is inhuman." Victor Weisskopf.

If he made that up, that is a great excuse. If true, that presents some interesting issues for drug testing. It's one thing to hold an athlete responsible for what they are allowed to use or not use (even in the treatment of legitimate medical issues), but another for every person they may come in contact with.

She opened the capsule, poured the contents in her mouth, then washed it down with water.

Must be a tasty drug.

USADA: Athletes are responsible for everything that goes into their body.

aside from bad grammar (bodies, bodies), athletes are now also responsible for scrutinizing which mouths their tongues are excavating.

Im waiting for an athlete to test positive and accuse a rival of drugging them.

Drugging someone seems like a realitively easy thing to do if you really wanted your competition to be disqualified. Certainly much cheaper than paying off doctors for your own ped program.

who's smarter than you're? i'm!

I wanna see the scientific testing that proves this.

Could kissing become a valid excuse for missing your start time? I mean, kissing leads to... and that leads to oversleeping. Sounds valid to me!

Ben Johnson says Carl Lewis spiked his drink. Some Canadians I talked to also believe this to be true.

Both times he tested positive? /pink

I don't believe that anyone spiked his drink, he was doping as was everyone else of that era.

He tested positive for at least 2 different PEDs and at least 3 different times. I thought I had read that Ben, like Floyd, claimed to have been on a different PED than what he tested positive for at the Seoul Olympics. Regardless, both Ben and Carl Lewis were doping. All Hail Calvin Smith!

There was a case here in the UK last year where a time triallist who tested positive and given a four year ban claimed he was set up by a rival who could have swapped a bottle on his bike with one containing the banned substance.

There was on a long time trialling forum post with input from the bannned cyclist if it interests anyone.
