Not sure where you'll be staying, but I like to swim in Echo Lake, which is near Southwest Harbor. Ocean is probably pretty chilly (and is most of the summer as well).

I work at a camp on echo lake and do all of my swim training there. There is public water access at ike's point or you can message me and we can swim together from our docks. It's definitely the best place for distance swims. Water temp is comfy at this point.

Where is the most minimal boat traffic spot for ocean swimming? I'm from the area, water temp is ok.

Staying in Trenton.

Any safe spots (current wise) up in Cutler at the Bold Coast?

Echo lake is on our list, good to know we can swim safely too! I'll message you.....

Do you know of any locations further south? I'll be in the Bristol/Boothbay area this weekend and looking for a place to swim.

Echo Lake is the best lake. You can swim from Ike's Point. Sight across the lake to Camp Beech Cliff (worked there or 7 years!), or go left to the Ledges and Echo Lake Beach.

Long Pond is another good one, as is Somes Pond.

You CANNOT swim in Eagle Lake, Jordan Pond, or Bubble Pond. Don't break the rules here. They are public water supply.

Ocean - Somes Sound on a Sunday (no lobster boats will be out); Sand Beach

Boston is not "from the area" ;-)

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine

Thanks Doc

Anyone know of safe ocean spots to swim up in Cutler?

In terms of ocean temperatures, I'm from the area. 2 degree difference from Ipswich, MA & Moody Beach, ME where I normally swim to Acadia, ME.
