North Carolina Bicycle Shop Seeks Service Manager and Carbon Repair / Custom Paint Apprentice
Job Title: Service Manager / Apprentice in Carbon Repair & Custom Paint
Business: The Bicycle Shop, http://www.thebicycle.com/
Daily Duties:
· Servicing, repairing, building bicycles
· Working with customers on the sales floor
· Assisting Jack with carbon repairs
· Prepping bicycles for painting
The shop is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. We are closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
Requirements:
· Build and tear down any type of bicycle
· Able to bleed any hydraulic brake
· Suspension system knowledge (No downhill (DH) knowledge needed)
We are looking for an individual who strives to elevate their skill set through becoming an apprentice in the arts of carbon repair and custom bicycle painting. Ultimately, we are looking for a mechanic who is looking to take his/her mechanic service to the next level.
About The Bicycle Shop: The shop has been in business since 1973 and has been owned and operated by Jack Kane. We are a family bicycle shop. The shop is known as a “bicycle shop’s bike shop”. We handle repairs and projects outside of other shop's scope. We have a full machine shop, which allows us to fabricate parts, pieces, and tools as we need. We are known across the country for our carbon fiber repair and custom bicycle painting. The shop shares itself with the headquarters of Jack Kane Custom Racing Bicycles.
Living in and around Jacksonville, North Carolina – Close to some of North Carolina’s most beautiful beaches (Emerald Island, Topsail, Carolina Beach, Wrightsville Beach). The area is perfect for outdoor activities like kayaking, deep sea fishing, wind-surfing, etc. The terrain is pan-cake flat, which if you do not like hills, is fantastic. The cycling and mountain bike scenes continue to grow. Jacksonville's cost of living is very reasonable and is home to Camp Lejeune, one of the top Marine bases in the country. We are only fifty miles from Wilmington, North Carolina and a couple hour drive from Raleigh, Myrtle Beach, etc.
