Which extensions are those? When in the aerobars do you put you elbows on the pads?

As a general question do people find the Dimond damps road vibration when riding chip and seal or other poor roads?

Sourced the parts from ST Classifieds and eBay. Jordan's opinion re: the Magura simplified the fairing choice. The beard is standard although minor sanding of the bottom was done to perfect the fit. The only custom bit is replacing the metal cover for the wire entry into the downtube with a carbon fiber piece (plastic will work as well) which allowed a little more forward position and lateral play for the wires.

A discussion re: Sub-9 vs Super-9 by Joshatsilca and Jordan, and multiple threads of 1080 vs 808FC convinced me to shift wheelsets:

The extensions are a lesser known brand (Planet X, if I recall correctly) but there were available alternatives of Profile Design Stryke carbon and PD T4+ aluminum, both of which would have gotten the angulation needed. I'm absolutely more comfortable on chip sealed or similar roads with the Dimond than my previous TT bike (a Blue). It makes staying in aero on those roads much more manageable for me.

Anyone move from a P5 to a Dimond that could offer direct comparisons? Was it worth it?

I will drop the question into the owners page on FB. But you are unlikely to get a negative response! No-one I know that has jumped ship onto a Dimond has been anything other than really happy with the ride quality and / or speed. They may be able to give you some direct comparisons though.

A couple of reasons. First and shortest is the performance potential, particularly in windy conditions. I've never appreciated the value of a few minutes until this season (my second in tri) when I was out of the top seven in my AG by literally two minutes in two races and one by a single second. Second, I really like the idea of a small, American business taking a novel design and doing it well. If the Dimond and P5 hit the market at the same time I would have bought the Dimond simply for that reason. Third, traveling with the P5 is a massive pain.

This is a really good question that I've contemplated for a few months. I love my P5; it is truly a remarkable bike, capable of faster speeds than I am able to reach. I've managed to drop 13 minutes off my bike PR this season through hard work and can't help but to wonder if things are truly greener in the beam pasture.

If you do get a Dimond, you have to get one with the new fork. It makes the bike look so much better

In short.
Pros: it's a fast stiff bike
Cons: they're having trouble delivering consistently
Pros: they understand their difficulties and are working to correct them.
