Zipp Vulka Alumina BTA Mount
My current setup is a standard Torpedo. I'd like to raise it just a little so that I can slide the bottle further back and over the stem. The Vulka looks like it would do the trick.

My only concern is the 10 miles of rough road I've been warned about at IMFL. Seems like the standard Torpedo velcro straps would absorb a bit of the vibration whereas the Vulka would be a tighter / stiffer connection to the bars and thus could take a beating. Just curious to know if anyone has experience using the Vulka riding rough surfaces and if there were any issues.

These little aluminum cross bars will raise the bottle up to actually be between the arms (clearing your stem) and are a rock solid replacement for those velcro straps. While it shows a cage, the cage isn't included.

Nice. Quite a bit cheaper too. Thx.

Looks like their pricing is backwards. $15 with a cage, $25 w/out.

The Vuka BTA mount is the best BTA mount on the market. It just works perfectly. I had the XLAB Torpedo setup and when it rained, the straps would move. With the Zipp BTA, it will not move at all. Buy it, you will love it. I use mine with the TriSports mount and the XLAB Torpedo bottle

Bummer from TriSports.

Zipp has stopped production of the BTA Mount until further notice, but we are still accepting backorders.

Oh, that's because of the recall they had on the Garmin mount. They had issues with the mount coming apart. Mine broke on a ride and my Garmin went bouncing down the street. It was ok, no scratches and Zipp sent me a new mount with better glue on it.

But your setup is exactly what I'm looking for. Higher and further back. Thanks.

Wait for them to start producing it again. It's worth the wait

New Vuka BTAs should be coming at the end of the month. The computer mount interface is now attached with fasteners and it can be rotated 90° to accommodate Edge and Forerunner devices.

I use these crossbars with my Vulka Alumina Extensions. Rock solid, low cost, no issues.

For the Xlab, just add some zip ties if you are worried about it moving.

Would be great if they could make something compatible with 3T bars (3T extensions are 80mm appart, and it seems like the current vuka bta only work for 90mm or more).

Will flipping your clamps around so the hinge is inboard of your extensions work?

Hum, interesting idea.
I don't have one and I was just saying that based on the specs, but if someone can confirm it's possible to do, I'm interested!

I've used the PD mount for years with different cages. I trimmed the bars down, spray painted gloss enamel over the logos, some cut-off inner tubes around the extensions for a little shock-absorption and fix it with zip ties. Bomb-proof.
Excuse the dodgy pic - all i could find.

Just ordered mine from trisports today taking advantage of the 20% discount for Labor day. It is on back-order for now. I was wondering about the Zipp alumina mount. Sounds like they are making some nice improvements to it. Glad I decided to just place the order and wait.

I've have had this set up for a few years now, and still love it. Thanks for the advice! I was recommending it to a friend, but I soon realized you need the TriSports BTA Modification Bracket. The new TriSports company/website does not have it. Does anyone know if its possible to get one anywhere?

I think these could work in the same way as the now unavailable tri sport ones - https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/...and-accessory-device

I’ve not tried it yet but I like the company and use their gear on my mountain bike.

Does anyone know if the vuka BTA is compatible with the Speed Concept mono bar extensions? I don't know if Trek used a proprietary extension size or if it's the standard the vuka clips are made for.

I do not have a speed concept but I have this BTA. It should work, it has some play for different sizes and seems like it could clamp to a few different diameter sizes if necessary.
