There have been a couple of disturbing memes floating around that, as usual, completely gloss over the problems that the protests/riots were supposedly over.
To be clear, the protests (the protest part, anyway) were specifically about police brutality. I'm certain that many felt that there was a racial component to it, but it was specifically a response to police brutality. IOW, the statement being made is that, "cops should not be beating the shit out of the local citizenry, even if arrested for a legitimate crime."
The memes floating around have centered around one of two points: 1) that crime will be worse without the cops and 2) that criminals are worse than cops.
Fantastic, but what the heck does this have to do with police brutality? Are they suggesting that we should deb lucky that we have police, and that...hey, you know, so you've got to break a few eggs to make an omelette.....but omelettes taste good, right?
Discuss.
