@Nobbie: with manual zeroing I mean the calibrate function - that forces a zero offset calibration.

@Tillquist: our power meters are on their bikes, but we don't appear in the list of sponsors.

Hi, I have a Garmin 910xt paired with my Type S. When I turn on the 910xt in bike mode it says "power meter detected, calibrate?". Should I enter "yes" or "no"? Thanks.

Hi,

you can do it, but it's not really necessary. Your Type S will conduct a zero offset calibration every time you coast more than 2 seconds. Sometimes the Garmins struggle with completing the offset calibration if a HR sensor is registered in the profile, but not being used.

So I just installed my Power2Max on my P3 and I want to make sure I did it correctly. I got the rotor cranks and I used the spacers that came with it. It seems to fit good but I am not sure if using the spacers is necessary. If anyone has installed this crankset on your P3 did you use the spacers provided?

On my S2 with the Rotor 3D+ I used two plastic spacers (one each side) and one 11.5mm aluminum spacer on the drive side. Best as I can tell that's what the directions said, but I could be off the mark.

So you didn't use the wide aluminum spacer on the non drive side? That makes sense I just wasn't sure. It seemed a little to small using both but only on the drive side makes sense.

Edit...I just tried the one spacer and it is still too wide. I think I have to use both...anyone else have any ideas?

I'm looking to buy a Power2Max Classic Road power meter with cranks (http://www.power2max.com/...ossamer-power-meter/). I have a 2013 Cervelo P2 with FSA Gossamer Cranks, 110 mm. The specs on Cervelo's page says the BB is FSA Gossamer Mega Exo (http://web.archive.org/...kes/p-series/p2.html).

The P2M website says: Compatible frame formats BB30**, BB86, BB90, BSA68, ITA70 (** Only with adapter – Rotor 3D Plus recommended).

Looking at my BB, which do I have?? It's labeled MegaExo BB-8000/6000 with BC1.37"x24T (see pic). I found this FSA compatibility chart: http://www.bikeman.com/...ternalbbfitchart.pdf but it shows the 6000 and 8000 as two separate BB.

So will the P2M Classic Road with FSA cranks fit my existing BB as-is? When I go through the ordering process, I'm given 3 (optional) choices of: 1) FSA Megaexo BB for BSA and ITA, 2) FSA Megaexo BB for BB30, 3) FSA Megaexo BB for BB86 PressFit.

Hi there,

the P2 you have is a threaded frame, or BSA. The bottom bracket that's currently installed is a FSA Megaexo.

You can keep the bottom bracket (I would only swap it if it's getting old and used) and install the FSA Gossamer Classic directly in it.

One thing to know is that the FSA chain rings that are currently on your Gossamer cranks don't play nicely with other cranksets because the small chain ring has little cutouts around the bolt holes which leads to warping on any other chain set. I would recommend getting fresh chain rings (the Praxis Works option is a great one).

I've got a P3 with a Rotor 3D+ and Q rings like this:

http://www.rotorbike.com/...road/versions/3d_236

It looks like this is the P2Max to buy:

http://www.power2max.de/...without-cranks-road/

But when looking at the installation instructions for the crankset:

http://www.rotorbike.com/...6/rotor_96825890.pdf

Picture 4, part H seems to show the driveside crankarm and spider as a single unit.

Could you confirm that it's possible to fit the P2Max to this crankset and if so do you need any special tool to remove the spider from the crankarm?

cheers

Hi Nobbie,

You can indeed install our power meter on the 3D+. You'll need the special installation tool to remove the spider

Hey,

I've been using rotor 3D cranks for a while on my P2M, I want to change crank length, I run the Shimano bb so I'd like to leave it that way, the new rotor cranks have changed now, what cranks will still work with my P2M, it's the classic version I have,

Hi Jonboy,

yes, the Type S measures cadence using accelerometers, like the Classic. No magnets to install on the frame.

Can someone help me with following issue?

What size wrench is needed for the tool to mount the P2M to the Rotor crank?

I want to order the correct tool to set proper torque when mounting my P2M.

@elag: The Ultegra 6800 cranks themselves aren't compatible, because the crank spider is part of the crank arm and therefore not removable. I would recommend the Rotor 3D, it fits directly in the Shimano bottom bracket

@R2Phrankey: Sorry, don't know the figure by heart. We usually install it using a bench vice.

FSA and Rotor crank/BB cross-compatibility for BBRight

The “FSA BB386EVO bottom bracket for PF30, BBRight and BB386EVO” which is for sale on power2max website, says “Bottom bracket for FSA K-Force Light BB386EVO and FSA Gossamer BB386EVO. Also compatible with Rotor 3DF and 3D+”

1) I assume that this is the bottom bracket that came in my 2014 Cervelo P2 (BBRight), which has an FSA Gossamer compact crank?

2) I’ve seen in a couple places where someone has recommended using the FSA BB with the FSA cranks and the Rotor PF4630 BB with the Rotor cranks. Is there any good reason for that, or are all four of the cranks that I mentioned 100% compatible with either the FSA or Rotor PF30 bottom brackets? Or are the tolerances between the two brands slightly different. I’m thinking that if I order a power2max Type S, I may want to upgrade to the 3D+ crank, but I’d rather not change bottom brackets.

3) If I did purchase the Type S pre-installed on the 3D+ cranks, I wouldn’t need the lock-ring tool, correct? I would only need it in the future if I needed to swap out the drive-side crank arm for some reason?

4) Does the power2max/3D+ crank combo come with chainring bolts, or only if also ordering it with chainrings?

Hi Pete,

let me answer your questions 1 by 1:
1) Yes, the 2014 P2 BBRight comes with a BBright interface for 30mm axles and should be a FSA PF30 bottom bracket (unless they specced something else)

2) There shouldn't be a difference, because both bottom brackets create the same interface.

3) Exactly right.

4) Only comes with chain ring bolts if ordered with chain rings. Or you can order bolts separately on our site under chain rings.

Cheers

Do you know if the crank that comes standard on the 2015 Venge Expert Ultegra is compatible with the Power2Max power meter? The specs just say "FSA, carbon, mid-compact, BB30, 52/36".

Hi Michael,

That crank needs to be swapped out because the spider isn't removable.
