Ow man, why is it so difficult to get my hands on the 2015 Felt B14 in size 51 in Europe? I contacted more than 20 shops (fysical / online) and nobody can get there hands on a size 51, even not Felt Germany...

It means that you should get a B12, 51's available at least at Wiggle and Edelrad.

OWYEAH! The last one for Europe but very, very, very glad it's mine! Can't wait for the first ride this weekend! Still WIP, will change the white tape to black and replace the steering arms by lower ones. Already put my 60mm clinchers under it, couldn't resist it :D

going to post this here as well....I've also posted on a DA brake-issues thread but no responses yet....

I've narrowed down my bike search to two contenders: 2014 Argon 18 e-118 and 2013 Felt DA c.

After having read about all these issues with the rear brake, I'm a little concerned. Is this issue still present on the 2013s with the Bayonet 3 fork or are the issues limited to previous generations of DA?

thanks,
eric

SuperDave has covered this many many times which is why you're likely waiting for a reply. The issue is with proper setup not the actual components themsevles. If you take the time to configure it properly or have a detail oriented wrench work on your bike you won't have any issues. I have both an AR5 and a IA4 both have BB mounted breaking and neither is an issue. Furthermore who uses brakes?

I did all the routing myself and while it was a bit frustrating to get it sized correctly without and kinks, you must make sure the cable isn't too long or else it keeps the brake closed. But once it was set up I had no issues. It take a bit of time with the small adjustments to have each side of the brake engage the same it really won't be much different than any other hidden brake I don't think. If you like the DA more I wouldn't let the brake keep you away from it. I would also suggest looking at the steps someone on here put about installing an inline barrel adjuster as well since that makes things a bit easier to get it really dialed down.

Nice looking build, but good lord, shorten those cables and get rid of some of those spacers below your stem. 25mm max.

Here are the two FELTs that I proudly ride around town and beyond in. I've done some updates to the AR5 switching to Rotor 3DF cranks and No Q Ring chainrings and putting on a ISM Adamo Attack. Overall I'm more than happy with these two mean machines.

Beautiful! My training partner just got one and built It with electronic Super Record. How do you like the ride on the road? My friend has only done one road ride with it so far since it is winter and we are stuck on trainers. Can you compare it to an S5 (if you have ridden one)?

I've got about 50 miles on it in two shakedown rides so far and 0 of them since I swapped to the Quarq and omega. So, no _real_ feedback to provide yet but will do so once I give some good workouts.

Lovely! May I ask which are those bottle cages? I've an 48 AR5, currently with Elite Custom Race, they hold the bottles tight but it's not easy to insert the bottle on the down tube. I may try the Elite Cannibal bottle cages in the future.

I do not know the specific cages they are using, but they are similar to the Arundel Sideloader or the bontrager sideswipe.

That is a sweet-looking ride. I'm a fellow small Felt rider, and a big fan of their stuff. I've got a size 45 ZW95 and a size 47 DA1.

Before you buy new aerobars, try dropping the 20mm of headset spacers and mounting the extensions under the base bar by swapping the mounts left to right and using ~10mm risers under the arm rests. That should get you much much lower and eliminate the need to look for a different bar to suit a lower position. You've got ~130mm of y-axis adjustment with the Bayonet3 on a conventional steerer tube, use it up.

I'm in the market for a new tri bike. After a fit session it looks like the best bike to get more bike and less stem/extension would be a Felt B12 or B14 size 61. I like the looks of the B14 better than the B12. I'm not a bike geek so after some basics I dont know enough about mechanical/wheel options to understand some of the advantages. Looking for opinions on the upgrade from a B14 to a B12. For the extra $1000 I dont know if getting dura ace over ultegra and a different seat post is really worth it. Am I missing some important differences?

Thanks for any feedback.

You get more adjustable bars with the B12. If your fitter wasn't concerned about an extreme fit requirement get the B14 and save the cash.
The wind doesn't know what kind of derailleurs you have. If you aren't going with Di2, any new shifter and new derailleur are all going to function about the same. I should probably be a good salesman and push the up sell but if it were my money, I'd go with the B14 and start a Di2 fund for when you wear out the mechanical bits. Use the extra cash (assuming you have it) now to upgrade race tires/tubes, get a proper hydration set up sorted, and spend a winter's week someplace warm getting acquainted with the bike and a significant other. That'll be $1000 much better spent.

SD-thanks for the reply. You mention there is more aerobar adjustability with the B12. How is that? In looking at the specs its not obvious to me. I do in fact have a rather difficult fit. The guys that did the fit only worked with TREK and that was a disaster. I'm using the GURU fit numbers and doing the frame selection on my own. I need a 770mm stack and 530mm reach. In looking at a 61 frame and flipping the stem up it looks like the shims on the aerobars will get me where i need to be. I am assuming the only difference in the adjustment is the change in stems from -7 degree on B14 to the -17 degree on the B12? Correct or am I overlooking something on the aerobar set up.

Thanks,
Bill

Any word on Felt DA1 2015 models coming out? My LBS has had a frameset on reserve essentially as soon as the models were announced and we're just kind of sitting in limbo. I'm hoping to have it some time before January is out!

Excited to start a build and get fitted.
