Hi all,
I know that battery life has been repeatedly quoted as being about 400 hours, but just wondering if anyone has actually measured how much life they got out of their battery?
The same sort of battery in a powertap hub doesn't seem to last anywhere near that long...

Thanks!

I think it depens.. if you travel alot with the bike I guess it uses more because it gets activated?
atleast I didnt ride 400hrs on my power meters last year. but had to change on both this spring.. guessing 2-300hrs.. (I can get more acurate if you need) but I ride in cold conidions to..
(I have 3x power2max. 1x Classic road, 1x Classic MTB and one Type S road. All Rotor 3D/3D+)

I have been having the same trouble with mine. Multiple dropouts both inside and out. Thought maybe the battery cover wasn't holding the battery down tight enough to keep constant contact so I ordered a new one from P2M. Installed that, still does the same thing Unless i fiddle with the cover a little with my foot and it will come back on my display (Garmin 910XT) Brand new Renata Battery also.
Is this happening while you do steady workloads ? or more in sprints etc ?
I only see this while doing higher workloads. sprinting up a litle hill or something like that..

It just happens. Happened multiple times during long rides, then I changed the battery and battery cover, replace O-Ring and put everything back together and it dropped again MULTIPLE times on my trainer inside during a 1 hour recovery ride. It dropped 8-10 times inside. I may try cleaning the battery terminals or connection/contact points with some alcohol.

I'm sorry if this has been asked already. This thread has grown quite large.

Is there a specific procedure for tightening down a new set of chainrings on a Power2Max? What is the torque specification and is there a certain pattern to tightening down the bolts? For reference I'm on a Type S, 110 BCD.

@Rdl and all others: sorry for the late replies, I was traveling without Internet access in the past two weeks.

RDL, the BB30to24 conversion bottom bracket is $79.

Hi kppolich: do you have the opportunity to run another head unit next to it? This would help identify if the 910 XT is not receiving in these instances or if transmission is cutting out.

The holder should be independent of the battery cover, as long as the battery holder arms weren't damaged.

I personally also have a Kickr and think it tends to read higher in erg mode than in constant resistance mode, compared to the power2max. I don't have any test data on it, though, it's just subjective observation.

Hi fruity,

Yes, you can install a single chain ring, power metering won't be affected. Our track model is specifically made for single chain ring use, with a single speed chain line and 144bcd.

@michael: no specific procedure. Chain ring bolt manufacturers usually recommend 7-8nm. Just make sure they're properly tightened :)

Does anybody have the lock device to get the chainring off of the P2M Rotor crank. I would buy or prefer borrow.

Which crank? The tool is different amongst the Rotor cranks.

power2max classic rotor 3d compact for standard tradeEdit | Delete | Quote | Reply

I am looking to trade my compact 110BCD for 130BCD standard thanks

I will trade the crank with the 50/34 chain rings for just a standard size crank without the chain rings

where can I get o-ring replacement for the battery housing for the classic model? I am guessing I can find these at a local hardware store but no idea what to look for.

I hate it when shipping cost more than the actual product. Plus I was hoping I can find something local. Would like to have it before the weekend.

I'm with you on that. Just did the same for the Renata battery. Shipping is from Canada, so part of the expense.
