Just read on social media. Certainly wish him well and am sorry to see one of my favorite brands lose such a great guy.

I hope his replacement posts as helpfully and frequently as Damon. One of the things I love about this place is the random manufacturer posts.

Thanks Jim.

It's been a great six years for me working there. I'm humbly proud to have had the opportunity to work with the good people there, and what we've achieved together. Thank to them.

I don't know what the future holds for me, or where I'll work next. But wherever it may be, I'm excited to continue living my dream: applying engineering to make riders faster.

My first real tri bike was a Cervelo Eyre...back in the day. Partly one of your creations no doubt. Best of luck with the continuing journey.

Thank you for your "service" to the community, and not just Cervelo. Here is the crazy thing....a guy with your intellect can make a lot more money in many other professions, but you've chosen a higher calling to apply it to making people happier by allowing them to ride faster! Thanks for the interactions and hopefully you still come on here to talk with us!

I still ride an Eyre and it's definitely older than 6. It's as old as a teenager.

Good luck Damon!

Hm, my new bike is very well done with no question left, some others occur with this surprising news. Damon, if you ever visit the Kurpfalz, the region riding on 2 wheels was invented by this man .. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Drais .. I'd invite you to the most beautiful rides here!

Cheers, Sausskross

IMO, much of what Cervelo is perceived as by triathletes is a large part your contribution on this message board. What you've done for the brand is immeasurable, and it's surely a huge loss to Cervelo to not have you there, even as a brand representative. I hope your departure from there was amicable, and I hope you find (or have lined up) something exciting for the future.

Damon, I've also enjoyed so much your posts. I'm sure that's quite a loss for Cervelo, and hopefully you'll find a great fit in another place that furthers your dreams. Thanks again for all the great information, opinions and taking the time to help educate us. Please stay around.....

Nick, many thanks for the very kind words. I'm still a member of the slowtwitch forum, only no longer with Cervelo obviously. I'm not yet sure where I'm going to work, but I'm not "signing out" of slowtwitch any time soon. :-)

Maybe it is time to start your own beam bike company :-)

Hi Damon,

Like others, I too have appreciated having someone from one of my favourite bike companies be so readily forthcoming with advice and insight. You have helped me quite a bit, even as recently as yesterday. I know Cervelo has its own forum but you and some of your peers comments here always felt like you were reaching out just that bit further. I hope you & Cervelo parted ways well and wish you all the best for whatever comes next. Am also very glad that you're not leaving ST anytime soon - I'm sure I'll have more questions before long.

Enjoy the ride.

He sat next to me on the way to the airport after the original S5 launch in Colorado... needless to say it was good times. Wanna come by the Bay Area to do a "Meet the Engineer" event Damon? Unattached an unbiased of course.

Best of luck in your next gig, Damon! I too enjoyed your talk at Two Wheel Jones this past Thursday. You sounded so committed to Cervelo that it was certainly hard to imagine you leaving the company. Hopefully, you will find your way to get back to core engineering.
