Hi Morten,

the two are the same once you remove the spider - so both :).

Are you 100% sure, for the Rotor web site is Q-factor is not the same.

Rotor 3D = 148mm http://rotorbike.com/...ad/versions/3d24_237
Rotor 3D Track = 147mm http://rotorbike.com/.../track/3d24-track_62

Because I'm about to buy a Rotor 3D Track crankset, but should be able to use your power meter track when it comes on the market.

So I might as well buy the right cranks now.

Hi Morten,

you were right - they are different. The track version has a different mount (with screws instead of a lock ring). We use the road version, though, because the geometry is pretty much exactly the same and the road version is much more widely available.

In the 3D+ version there is no official track version, so we are offering the only possibility there :).

Thank you.

So your track power meter will be available for both Rotor 3D and Rotor 3D + crankset?

Which one do you recommend for Track?

I have a set of ceramic speed bearings that fit Rotor 3D (24mm axle)

Hi Morten,

yup, both versions will be available.

The Rotor 3D+ is a bit lighter and stiffer with its bigger axle and has more crank lengths available. The 3D is a bit quicker to take off the bike if you want to change crank lengths. Both good cranks, in the end I would decide based on the whole package. Michael, our resident bike pro and track rider uses the 3D+.

Hi Nicolas
Just one last question. I have seen that the rotor also makes a 3D30 version which looks like 3D + much.

Will I be able to use track power meter on Rotor 3D30 crankset?

Hi Morten,

3D30 is the new name for the 3DF, which is the forged equivalent of the 3D+. They are interchangeable, except the 3D30 is forged and a bit heavier.

Nicolas,

I wanted to post a follow-up to my order and use thus far. My order was shipped in a very timely fashion and I received it in about five days (Canada to US). I ordered the Rotor 3D+ with Praxis rings and I am very pleased with the fit and finish of both and the performance of the power meter. My use thus far has only been indoors with TrainerRoad and it has worked quite well and proven to be very dependable.

I am very pleased with the overall transaction, product experience, and support you provide here on Slowtwitch. The Rotor crank is a very nice upgrade for my bike and coupled with the Power2Max, I think it's a great value.

I'm considering replacing the BOR 50/34 chainrings on my FSA P2M with Praxis 52/36. Is this pretty straight fwd, undo the bolts replace the rings ...or is there anything else I should consider?

Hi sp1ke,

yup, that's about it. If the chain ring doesn't fit over the battery compartment you may have to remove the crank arm first (6 small bolts). Please make sure your Praxis Works chain rings are correctly aligned to ensure best shifting performance.

I'm currently awaiting shipment of my ordered Compact 110 Power2Max Type S, Rotor 3D+, PraxisWorks 52/36. I believe you said the entire unit would come assembled. If for whatever reason I needed to send the P2M back in for service, could I simply buy the $50 Rotor 3D+ spider from your site and have my LBS install that in place of the P2M unit so that I could continue training while the P2M was being serviced?

Nicolas - just want to verify. I have the Rotor 3d+ with the MAS. This spider is removable to work with the P2M that I just ordered, correct? Thanks.

Quick question, I know that the unit will come assembled (P2M, cranks, chainrings). Will everything be torqued down to spec so that my LBS can simply install the cranks on my bike as they would any other assembled crankset?
