I was wondering the same thing lol. Been waiting for the fixed stem option to return for a while now but the Norcom is looking a bit more attractive (waiting for data) with several fixed FLAT stem options.

Cheers.

where did you get that stem?!

I'm pretty certain that's Mirinda Carfrae's "old" bike, and I read somewhere once that Felt custom made that stem for her out of steel because the aluminum wouldn't hold up (supposedly).

How are you linking it? I almost got the exact same setup without the PM. ended up going with the F series as I wanted a lighter bike for climbing.

After seeing your bike it makes me have "what if" moments.

That's absurd. Felt never made any custom stems out of steel for Rinny. We had some stainless steel bolts fail under our excessive fatigue testing in early prototypes of the stems used by the Garmin team. There has never been a failure in the field but I do not recommend using them if you find one somehow.

Recently was riding down PCH and some guy on a Specialized ended up tagging along for a couple miles, turns out it was Neil Browne, tell him to hurry up and build his Felt frame. ;)

I've since added a DarkSpeedWorks bento, works great for snacks and to hold my phone backup battery with 4" cord so I can run with my Strava on for 6+ hours showing HR, Cadence, distance, etc.

I need to get back to the office to lend a hand getting his Felt built up. Neil's a welcome addition to the Lunch Ride peloton!

except for the fact that i cant get it outdoors..................i wont xski below 18deg due to fingers and toes freezing, so i am not going to ride outdoors when the high is 3F :)
but other than that and the oddities of 6800 seems pretty decent to me.

i will definitely get around to recabling the rear brake to remove the bulky cludge of the inline quick release

i didnt want to drop additional coin for electric on the AR, even though toptube entry would have been nicer for shift routing. I like the glossy look, easier to keep clean looking and as we all know, red is fast, so I am going to have to dye what little hair i have left red as well. :) bike colors match team colors, lucky me, even though not team sponsor

SD............are those silly seatpost pieces necessary from an aero perspective? I am put them somewhere and not on post as i will use a different saddle come outdoor season and that may result in slight lowering of saddle. i though i saw somewhere that they were not. i guess they might keep sweat out of falling into post

+1

Mist down with some Finish Line bike wash and wipe clean with a microfiber. I've dealt with enough matte finishes in the automotive world to know about the pros and cons of them, i'm quite happy with my AR4. I'll probably do either the DA 9070 or Ultegra 6870 upgrade soon enough however, both to clean up the cabling and to even further improve on the shifting performance.

I also don't use the silicone seat post inserts A) because i'm afraid to cut them only to wind up changing my fit at some point and not having replacements available on the felt site yet, and B) so that people can see that its new and cool. :-)

I also don't see frame plugs available for those who have already changed an AR from mechanical to electric and need to close up the downtube holes.

How does the TriRig stopping power compare to the new 6800 front brake? I hope the prototype Felt front brake makes it out of the skunkworks eventually. Maybe Dave can reach out to local AR riders who pass through Irvine all the time to test them. -_- :-)

I don't use the front brake currently(indoors) and never even tried the ultegra that came with it.

I thought plugs for di2 came with it in all the boxes of "stuff" I've been wrong before and might just be thinking of what I have read in the manual

Can't say too much more than, 'wow !'.

But, just thought of it, what kind of carbon bottles are those ?

The AR2 and FRD are designed for electronic only with cable entry behind the stem, so there's no need for frame plugs.

And AR3 EPS sold only in the USA and Asia. AR3 R sold in EU uses the UHC Advanced frame / UHC Ultimate fork but retains the mechanical shifting of the AR4, AR5, and AR1 frameset. In fact, the AR3 R and AR1 framesets are the exact same lay up.

Elite Crono CX, not much if any wider than the frame itself. 500ml. And yes, they're dimpled.

If you suck in as you squeeze the bottles, they gush water. If you try to just squeeze, you feel like you're going to blow the lid off.

Sent you a PM the other day about my new DAC frame set and not having the top tube plug. Also, does anyone who has a DA use the frame plugs for the FD/RD? I tried but it became almost impossible to guide the cable into the guide on the FD. Working out some issues with the rear brake and trying to get it adjusted now. Drive side brake arm doesn't seem to want to move much when cable is tight. I unscrewed the small screw to see if that helped. Maybe I will try to move the spring to one of the other holes. But I have plenty of time to figure it out before it sees the outdoors.

Correct, but the AR4 is stock with mechanical, and when I upgrade to electric, I want to plug the downtube holes.

you are trying to put the plug in after you have routed the housing through it, correct?? I can't imagine one would try any other way, but mention it anyway. it is not easy and just takes a lot of patience and persistence.

Yes. But the plug won't go in when the cable is already routed in the cable guide for the FD. Maybe I just need to not be annoyed to start and that way I'll have patience.

make sure no one can hear you when you are cursing at it. it is a challenge. I found the toptube one to be the most difficult(cables)

Haha I will be sure of that. And I am even more excited about the top tube one now. One didn't come with my frame set so I am trying to figure out how to get one since the LBS I got it from is closed because of damage done by smoke/water from a big ass fire that happened in the buildings next door. Hopefully SuperDave will be able to help me out. Still trying to get the dang rear brake to work really well without me pulling the lever too much. I think I need to cut down the cable a bit more leading into the noodle. But boy is the bike pretty!

Is there another Felt Dealer nearby?
