Is that a mini-pump alongside your bottle cage? Does it take like 1000 strokes to air up those tires?

Not if the PSI is in the single digits...
your hands freeze after 250 pumps.... Hypothermia sets in at 500 pumps... By 750 pumps you'll have burned through all the hand warmers... Who knows if you'll ever get to 1,000. And 8psi. :-)

Enjoy the bike! I just finished watching these bikes on a Sufferfest. And they look like fun.

They are a ton of fun. This is my second fat bike and we are going to be having a fatbike race series local to me this winter. That combined with snowmobile trail rides and a winter tri or two are on the docket.

Shop's scale had it at 25.7 pounds. Pretty happy with the overall spec, and rims are the only big place I could lose weight. There are lighter rim options out there, but I like the width of the surly clown shoes.

That's an insane weight considering the tires on that thing. These bikes are surprisingly fast. I drafted behind a guy on fire roads at hampshir100, once it's rolling it flies.

Ya I was thinking of racing this at the 2014 hampshire100 given the intel I have heard about the course being very soft and loose for a good bit.

Here, my old Scott Waimea, Shimano 105, Scott 100k bars! 650cc! Compact and nice to ride.
Then the also old Kona Bear now performing as a single speed.
And then, for urban rides an also also old Peugeot frame... and a Mavic 3G!

Hello Alexandre,
I like that time trial bar you have on your Scott. I remember my very first Zipp 2001 bike; it had a same bar as yours. It was completely stealthy black throughout the whole bike and I miss it very much.

Here is my very latest track set up that I have just completed. I hope it looks ok:

Regarding your shiv, not the dog.... Can you order this frame sans decals? Or did you paint it gloss black?

Hello summerk,
I have exact same frameset and size brand new in box. I have been thinking of building it up but I am hesitating. Please tell me how it rides. It looks beautiful as complete bike. Is there any tip and advice on building this up?

Here is my latest ride:

I love this bike, it's light and rides great. However, this is the only tri bike I have ever ridden and I previously rode a Giant Avail 2. I don't have any tips for building it up. I bought it with all the components, which is a mix of Dura Ace and Ultegra. I plan to ride this bike for my first Ironman, IMTX, in May 2014 and I have planned a 62 mile ride for this coming weekend. Good Luck!

Just built up my first "road" bike for Crit/Road races next year. Let me know what you think.

Planet X Team SL Frame
Rival components with Red shifters.
Ritchey bars and stem.
Giant 40mm aero wheels off of my old TT bike.
It weighs 17.8 lbs with pedals and water bottle cage.
Total build cost was $844.00, pretty stoked about that. I really wanted something different than most bikes on the road.

Here are my two bikes, The Fuji Aloha 1.0 is new for me, bought it för 3000kr (450usd) it´s pimped with a Dura-Ace crankset 55-42, ultegra derailleuers dura ace shifters. Cant wait to get it out on the road.
The blue is my old Peak Pt. Arlington Hybrid, Shimano Alivio and Mavic Aksium Wheels, have used it in sprints average 32km/h i Think, hopefully that will improve on the Fuji...
