That's as low as it goes, any tips on getting it cut?

Hacksaw with a new blade will do the trick with aluminum. Sand the edges for burrs and you are good to go. I had to do that with my Thompson 32.4 post on my r3.

Same deal just use masking/ painters tape where you make your cut, i.e. tape where you plan to make the cut so there is no splintering. There are also a few CF specific blades out there

So sick... and an upgrade. Though I will admit I do like the Shiv.

In lieu of remaining the reigning Kona bike course record holder, here is my Kuota Kalibur with new wheels bought on ST and recently chopped down Vision basebar

My newly acquired Shiv with fresh custom wheel decals made by sc_nick (slowtwitch handle)who advertises on this board in the Classifieds. Its a combo of my girls' names Isla and Asha. Absolutely love the bike coming from a Cannondale Caad9 road bike (which I loved too).

Thanks to Nick_Barkley for leading me to some armrest pads and Tom A for answering some silly questions on the bars.
Hopefully more aero...less die.

Have you tried riding those bars outside? If so, how are they?

just for a few minutes to test the brakes/shifting.

It's different...but seems fine.

and turns, etc? Intriguing idea, if the handling is ok I wonder why more haven't done it. I imagine the aero benefits are not insubstantial.

What do you ballpark the savings at vs other top-tier bars - speed concept, Ventus, 3T Aduro, etc?

that's more of a question for the guys that have ridden that way for a while... I'm still only 1 ride in. Still... I mean... if hipsters can navigate busy streets with nothing but two grips sticking out from the stem I have to feel like it's not a big deal to take the normal turns of a tt/tri with this... although triathletes are known for their handling prowess, so maybe it's deadly.

Nice build. I'd recommend swapping out the bartape, for races, with either hockey tape or the standard fizik tape to save some more watts.

Handling is perfectly fine. The bar width is 25cm and I came from 42cm.

yeah, the tape is a bit excessive. All I had at the house was some Zipp CX :)
I was thinking USA flag hockey tape for the full garish treatment.

That would be a nice touch. Is that the alligator mini ilink housing? If so, how do you like them. I was thinking about switching.

honestly I liked my nokons a bit better... The I-link mini's do make a bit tighter bends though. The ilink liner also ran through the frame (the nokon and jagwire lining didn't... which isn't a big deal but ya know, cool anyways.)
