The internal battery is lighter and more aero (being completely invisible in the seatpost). So yes, I'd say it's a better way. Might be a bit more expensive, though.

Sorry to re-post this but I couldnt see an answer: What size rare earth magnets are people adding to the the drinks straw, was thinking about ordering 3, one to boost the strength of the end of the straw and another couple to attach near the base bar?

Thanks

Has somebody figured out a good place where to put the SM-EW90B 5 port junction?

Picked up my new Helmet this weekend.

Yes, I have a Specialized problem but it beats the booze etc and I love it!
Next up, the Fuel Cell/Sitero Saddle when it becomes available no doubt...

Roll on Race Season.

I solved my problem so if anyone else comes searching... Yes there's a cable stop that fits in the compartment under the bottom bracket. It comes with the bike and looks like the cable routing metal device for the brakes.

I'm missing that part evidently. Did you have to go out and locate one? The part evidently is on order from Specialized per my LBS, but it's been 2 weeks and if there's a way I can get it myself, that would be awesome. Waiting sucks!

It's in the obvious place on my Shiv for the moment: under the stem with the ports facing backwards. Haven't found a better place yet. Maybe on top of the stem behind the BTA bottle.

Just got a shiv comp my first tri bike a few weeks ago...it has been interesting. My first HIM is in 3 weeks. Cannot wait to get it on the course, the only problem is I think it will be a hilly race.

Probably the McLaren UK link and fact its sanctioned for races here managed to get it released here first.

I wonder who will get the fuel cell first.

I'm from Europe as well.. I want that helmet! Specialized says it will only be available to a handful of dealers throughout Europe.

Contact your dealer.
There isn't many but they are available now.
Dealer should be able to get from distributor.

I had a weird issue today getting my Shiv ready to race. I had not been using the bladder so I had the cover with screw in. I was prepping the bladder and tried to remove the screw to put the bladder in and the screw turns but does not come out, i.e. stripped. In the past, I have only removed the screw once for the bladder and put it in a few months back but nothing since then. Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove it? I am sure I can gorilla my way through it but I would like to avoid that so I can have future use. I still have the second screw which came with the bike so I can use that after. Anyone with any thoughts?

Can anyone tell me the maximum effective stack on the shiv?

I had a retul pre purchase fit this weekend and my "frame stack" was 666, and my reach was 478.

According to my fitter, a shiv is the only frame we can get even close to my measurements, just wondering if any other tall guys have made this frame work?

I want to have the same hydration setup as Graig Alexander on my S-Works Shiv, but the problem is that one of the IM bike courses I will compete on, is very bumpy, will the normal Xlab Gorilla Cage be enough, or do I need the Gorilla XT Cage?

Are there any release date on the Fuel Cell, I have heard july?

I saw that, and after reading everything I can find the only question I haven't been able to find in what is the maximum effective saddle height on a XL shiv with the seatpost maxed out.

I maxed out the retul machine at 903mm, and my fitter noted i ideally would need 3-5cm higher.

So far it looks as though a shiv is my only option. Anyone with a XL want to make me a deal on a bike or frame, or point me a dealer with a 2012 XL leftover/ one dealing on 2013's?

I called a few local shops, only one of them knew anything about Tri bikes and the shiv, and they were less than helpful or enthusiastic about a potential customer...
