For Ladies Who Spin.

My hard rock playlist did not go as planned in my last class so I got some request for more pop. Let me bounce this list off you.

1. Flock of Seagulls - I Ran
2. Laura Branigan - Self Control (used before with success)
3. Loverboy - Turn Me Loose (a class favorite)
4. New Order - Bizarre Love Triangle
5. Kylie Minogue - Can't Get You Out of My Head
6. Katy Perry - Firework
7. Depeche Mode - Suffer Well
8. Lady Gaga - Poker Face
9. Paul Oakenfold with Britney Murphey - Faster Kill Pussycat
10. Kylie Minogue - Spinning Around
11. Sharam - PATT (Party All the Time) see the video on Youtube.

"In the world I see you are stalking elk through the damp canyon forests around the ruins of Rockefeller Center. You'll wear leather clothes that will last you the rest of your life. You'll climb the wrist-thick kudzu vines that wrap the Sears Towers. And when you look down, you'll see tiny figures pounding corn, laying stripes of venison on the empty car pool lane of some abandoned superhighway." T Durden

A few comments.

Poker Face is my least favorite songs of Lady Gaga. Go with Born this Way.

I now have Eddie Murphy's Party all the Time stuck in my head. Thanks.

Did you see the video for PATT. It is a mock video of the old Eddie Murphy video. Boy that old song doesn't go away when you hear it.

The best EVER spin song: Ozone - Dragostea Din Tei (Numa Numa) sung in Romania. Just awesome. As is that entire CD.

The Edge of Glory is the best Gaga song.

Any New Order or Depche Mode is good. Pet Shop Boys even better.

Kylie Minogue? No thanks.

I'd put some Gym Class Heroes in, and LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem. Some Pink.

Rock Mafia - The Big Bang is a good hill climb.

Flo Rida - Good Feeling

Taio Cruz - Dynamite

I'm gonna steal some of your songs for my next class, thx!

Here are some of the more pop songs (some newer, some older) that are in my current rotation. I have a pretty broad audience, 5am class and they seem to like these:

Everybody Talks - Neon Trees
It's Time - Imagine Dragons
50 Ways to Say Goodbye - Train
Blackout - Breathe Carolina
Some Nights - Fun
Heart Skips a Beat - Ollie Murs
Somebody that I used to know - Gotye
New Vibration - Collective Soul
Wild One - Flo Rida featuring Sia
Titanium - David Guetta & Sia
Pumped up kicks - Foster the People
Go Baby - Lupe Fiasco
Pain - Jimmy Eat World
Shake Senora - Pitbull

Hope this helps.

Toss this in and if they don't love it they aren't worth the effort.

I'd agree about Poker Face and Kylie Minogue. I would
pick a different Lady Gaga. In my class, some recent favorites that I didn't see listed (at least as of when I started typing this on my lunch break.) Some of these might straddle the pop/rock demographic nicely.

Gold on the Ceiling - The Black Keys
Some Nights - Fun
Break Your Heart - Taio Cruz/Ludacris
Bohemian Like You - The Dandy Warhols (oldie but goodie)
Payphone - Maroon 5
Where Have You Been - Rihanna

Most things by P!nk get me spinning. Her new release "Truth About Love" is full of good songs. Gin Wigmore's "Man like that."

I don't know who you are targeting or who attends your classes but the list posted would cause me to leave early or not return. Some of the pop songs you and others have posted are the same at every gym and/or class and are old. Perhaps you should put a spin on the music by offering some sort of theme like disco, dance, hip-hop on various days. Anything by Michael Jackson or Prince is always a winner, not Rhianna or whomever is the new flavor on the radio.

My class is a lunchtime class for adminstrators, preschool teachers, and whatever stray member comes in during the lunch our at a Jewish Community Center.

Actually, it's a rule here that the mens must post a photo. Bike included, of course.

My spin instructor seemed to have a very random playlist (not prepped or sorted) and on song came on with the most OFFENSIVE lyric (to me and a few other ladies in the group) - "so act like Hellen Keller and show me with your body". *facepalm* we groaned until she changed it, and later confessed to me that her recently-deceased friend had given her the iPod and she was loath to change it. I want to teach her about playlists so she can keep the sentimental music and prep the appropriate stuff for our group.
