I'm 5'11 and currently ride a Medium shiv.

The risk factor with running a small is rider position and stack height.

Do you have a long torso?

Hey MgAdams,

This is something that we are currently working on.

As for a release date, we are hoping sometime next year.

No my build/torso isn't very long.

Also, I'm looking at the Shiv TT version (not the Shiv Tri version). So, in your opinion would a Medium Shiv TT still apply to my 5' 11" frame? I assume , YES.

Thanks

A Medium Shiv TT should fit you.

What's your saddle height?

I'm 5'11" to and riding a large Shiv TT. I'm boarder line and could step down to a med.

I would strongly recommend going to your local shop and have them fit you before ordering so that you get the right size. Making an investment like a Shiv TT is pretty sizable and you want to be sure you are getting the right size.

Matty

My saddle height is 39.6" (or 1008mm).

I run a fairly aggressive position and I'm hoping not to have a huge stack of risers on the handlebars.

Thanks

Did anybody reply to you? I am trying to figure out how this bike respond to climbing and sprinting?

I have ridden my Shiv Expert up some very serious passes in the Alps and Dolomites. Sometimes we would do as much as 4000m of climbing per day on that trip. While the bike is not the lightest in the world, it did just fine in the mountains and I think if your racing a tri with lots of climbing you'll do just find on a Shiv. As for sprinting, I think a competitor on a lightweight roadbike of similar abilities to you will beat you to the line every time. But I'm curious - in what situation would you be in a sprint on a Shiv?

What is a sprint? :D If you are sprinting on this bike, you need to pace better. Sprinting = bad for your run.

Steep hills are fine. The bike is stiff. It's stiffer - torsionally - than the SL3 (if my memory serves me correctly, which it usually does), which climbs superbly.

If climbing/sprinting are key to you, I'd probably steer you towards the Shiv TT over the Shiv Tri, though. The Shiv Tri frameset is not optimized for those things. It's capable, but not as much as the Shiv TT, in my OPINION. Data-wise, it's hard to really nail down a significant difference.

Release date and price are still being worked out, all I can say is the information will be out soon.

It will fit all Carbon level Shiv frames (excluding the Shiv TT).

Thanks all!

Are you measuring from the ground to the top of the saddle?

Try measuring from the middle of the bottom bracket to the top of the middle of the saddle.

In case anyone is interested, veloflyte now has a Shiv headset dust shield. It saves about 6mm of stack over the stock shiv headset cover/spacer.

I am wondering if the decals on the Shiv Comp is beneath a layer of clear coat ? Thinking that i'd like to personalize it if possible.
Specifically the "Specialized" logotype.

Any idea if that will work with the SWorks Bar and stem as well?

I would assume so. Does your top cap look the same as the one in my top picture? I'm guessing with that stem the steerer tube would have to be trimmed down as well.
