Trek is just about due.
Shouldn't trek be finalizing the next gen of their TT bike? Hasn't it been about two and a half years?

Not that they need one. Just seems like the standard time the big companies wait to do an update.

An SC2 at the tdf would be pretty awesome.

maybe there is nothing major they want to change. Also when Trek introduce a new bike at the pro level, it is usually available right away for the public, and they have stock! Look at the Domane pheraps.

Wait... are you one of those types that never buy the current consumer item because you keep on waiting for the latest and greatest next model? I know of a lot of people that never ever purchase anything because they keep on waiting for the next model car, camera, computer, TT bike, shoes, bra, ... etc.

x2. I've been married for a long time. Do they still clip at the back?
Is there a "Boobtwitch" or somewhere I can follow up on these technological advancements?

I like to stay current.

You've gotta check out the ones that clip in the front. It's gotta be worth 2 seconds.....

Ssshhhhh! No, they don't but my wife still doesn't know that so try to keep it down.
She's been waiting for the latest and greatest as well and in the meantime hasn't bought any.

I agree that the front quick release are the latest and greatest. When there is forward pressure, its a snap to release and can make for a fast T1.

I had meant to get up to the Paper Discovery Duathlon last weekend...Carl from trek usually races it (and won his AG I think this year)....probably as good a chance as any to see what's in the works ;)

Alas thunderstorms and my wife being on call made it a no go.

What's really funny is that Felt hasn't done anything since 2007. 5 Years and we still have the same DA.

Look is still hanging onto the 596 since 2009.

The TTX came out in late 2006, and was not updated until the SC came out a couple years ago. It will probably be awhile still is my guess.

I guess I was just hoping that the super companies of specialized and trek would keep us entertained with new bikes every year between them. we got the p5 and shiv within a few months of each other. too bad it wasn't spaced out more.

Look, Felt and others are due!

Entertain us bike industry!!

Thats not true. The DA was updated for 2010 (or was it 2011 but released in 2010)?

Strong suggestion, not necessarily by AToC...but an aero road bike is what is due from them and the trek guys have been hinting towards it for awhile

What would be any major updates? The SC has held up pretty well in tunnel tests across the yaws and years.

- maguro hydraulic brake integration/options (isn't the front and rear brakes a PITA in the SC?)
- a non-UCI variant geometry that has a bladder option a la the non-UCI Shiv?
- more headset/TT bar options?

They already have a good set of accessories and integration. It's a pretty good design, and I'm a Cervelo fanboy. And Trek seemed to hold onto their last TT design for quite a while, the Lance-derived one.

Based on the lack of P5 aero data and how the SC stacked up against the P4, I don't know if there are major gains to be made aero-wise with a redesign. There seems to be some good consumer/prosumer software for CFD modelling of aerodynamics being used by Ceepo, Flo Cycling, and Cervelo that allows aero design on the cheap without a lot of physical models. But the P5 still doesn't appear to be a major upgrade speedwise over the P4.

You know, if they ever appear...
