The Big Kahuna triathlon in Santa Cruz is still open I believe and is a half IM (a fast one too I hear).

Most of them are over.

Wildflower (first weekend of May)

World's Toughest Half (May; next year April)

Ralph's Half (April)

Half Vineman (usually first weekend of August)

Barb's Race (women's only--August)

Big Kahuna (early September)

TBF Half (October, but no race in 2003, maybe back in 2004)

Big Rock (almost a half; in April?)

What am I missing?

Big Kahuna is a great race. I did it last year and I'll be there again this year.

There's also the San Diego Triathlon Challenge on Nov. 2.

Barb's Race is on August 23 (same course as Half Vineman, for women only).

I just came back to mention the San Diego Triathlon Challenge...but see 2 others did so. This is a non-race, but - get this little secret unknown to most of the tri world....want to do Kona next year? Then simply be one of the top 3 fundraisers for this event! Even if you don't get a Kona spot - look at the goodie bag plus all the fundraising incentive awards. A great race - an even greater cause.
