notice the space in the seatstays

Notice vastly different seat stays and fork compared to current Trek Madone 6 SSL. Hehe, I hope I'm the first who spotted this!

Not sure that's any different apart from the paint job.

I think a new road bike from Trek will look significantly different...

is that just some other trek model they use for bumpy stages? its definitely not a madone, you can see air between the top of the seat stays

I'm sure it's not the current Madone 6 series, look at the fork (it's curved and not straight) and the seat stays have an opening near the top. It could be a classics model....but everyone else was sitll using their normal road bikes, so possibly could be the 2013 Madone 6/7

Well actually the paint job is similar to the other bikes....what's different is the shape of the frame. Compare the fork, seat stay, and curved toptube to the current Madone and you'll notice differences.

More than likely an "off road" version. Cervelo does this with the R3 as well. There is a slightly different build for P-R and other "rough" races. Little more ground clearence, wider fork and stays for 27mm tires and a slightly longer wheelbase.

possibly, but there's a few thing that puts it into question:

#1: Strade Bianche isn't a super rough race...it's rough unpaved roads but nothing like PR. If you look at other teams they use standard S-Works SL4 and even Gilbert uses a standard SLR01 (not the modified version)
#2: The changes on this bikes don't seem "small" such as more tire clearance modifications. Compared to current Madone 6, The whole fork is different, the seat stays have a split at the top instead one-piece wishbone, and top tube seems slightly curvier.

True but he could also just be trying to get some time on the bike. Still great detective work!

The Madone has had a curved fork since 2010. I don't see a curved top tube and I think the hole in the seat stay may just be a combination of white paint, dirt and glare.

pretty sure dust and glare can't make you "see-through" a bike lol

compare that fork to the pics in my first post. Obviously different.

I do see the differences at least with the seatstays. I looked at his bike from P-R last year and it looked more like the current madone with the gap filled in.

I hope this isn't the new madone though or I atleast hope they have a more aero offering this year!

It's a new Trek for P-R style races.

Didn't he, though! One of the coolest races I've seen on TV in a while. And holy crap ... the legs on that guy. The camera shots as he was climbing that final 16% grade a half km from the finish ... his legs are just massive.

After taking a look at the video it also seems the down tube is a different shape and where the tt and the seat down tube meet is also different. As noted before the curve of the tt seems to be changed as well.

Also where the shifter and brake cables enter the frame in the front are different on this new model, on the current modes the cables enter the frame behind where the downtube and headtube meet.

Nice find of the pics and video. :)
