How was your week? Feb. 20 Edition

Tell us about it! Is anyone else on school vacation? My public school is, so I'm camped out in my university office all week :-)

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine
If you're injured and need some sympathy, PM me and I'm very happy to write back.

My goals were 10k swim and less candy. I managed the less candy for 2 days. :-) got the swims done.

M - 6 mi run + 2000 yd swim
T - 9 mi run + 1700 yd swim
W - 5.7 mi run + 2200 yd swim
T - 9.5 mi run
F - 9.5 mi run + 1050 yd swim
S - 4.9 mi run + 3100 yd swim
S - 8.5 mi run

totals: 53.1 mi run + 10,050 yd swim

Goals for this coming week: 12k swim, 1 ride, running will take care of itself

I had a much better week this week than last. I feel better, and I think I figured out my injury. It hurts in glut area, but I think I'm really tight in quads which is making glut work harder. I'm starting to run slightly faster again, and a LOT less pain. So I'm really happy. Fingers crossed!!!

My week
Monday: swim 3200
Tuesday: Ran 8 in a.m., Biked 1:15 in p.m.
Wednesday: Ran 5 in a.m., swam 3000 in p.m.
Thursday: Ran 5 in a.m., biked 1:10 in p.m.
Friday Ran 6 in a.m., swam 2000 in p.m.
Saturday Ran 5 then biked 3:30
Sunday Ran 16, then biked 1:05

Totals: Ran 45 miles, Swam 8200, and biked 7 hours.

Plan for upcoming week is similar. I'd like my long bike to increase to 4 hours, and my long run to increase to 18-20 miles. I have a swim lesson on Sunday, so I'm looking forward to that too.
Going to massage today, hopefully that'll help too.

Happy training everyone!

nad, glad you're making progress on the PITA. Head cold kept me down and out most of last week. I thought today would be the day to get back to my routine, including making up a 20 miler I missed, then first thing this morning I threw out my back. Sigh.... It's always something just before a race.

No coasting in running and no crying in baseball

Nice week. You can keep the quads loose with a foam roller ... or a wine bottle used the same way. Rolling pin too.

Not too bad.
I skipped a couple of short easy runs though because Mon. I wasn't recovered from my weekend long run and Wed. life got in the way.
But I got up and rode the trainer twice in the am! Major accomplishment for me!!!!
Felt really good on Thursday's 8mile run.
Swimming was good on Monday too.

Sunday was a fail. I did some cleaning and took a nap. Stayed out way too late on Saturday night.
Oh well!

this week is going to be just great, I know it!

Huge accomplishment! Well done. I can get up and run, but biking in the a.m., I just can't seem to do.

thanks!!
For some reason it's harder for me to run in the morning because it's still dark out. In the basement with my computer, tv, etc. and lights on it doesn't seem to bother me as much. I'd much rather run in the light.

no good news yet. I am sending more applications.

To clarify, I didn't bike last week - it is a goal for this week. You must be in a place where you can ride outside year-round? I'm in Maine and our weather is finicky.

I'm in Austin. I can ride outside, but due to kids / traffic / etc, I still do most of my training on my computrainer. I try to get out for my long ride on the weekend, but that's about it. It sucks but I'm getting it in.
Good luck. Don't go out if icy. Not worth it.
