Best part: had my little brother with me all day yesterday. He came to my swim meet, then we hung out at one of my friend's houses for the afternoon.
Worst part: little brother got into a huge fight with my parents on Friday night (which is how he came by spending the weekend with me ;-)

Met the goal of "swim 3x and let the running take care of itself." No speed workouts but I did get a nice medium-long and long run done.

M - 7 mi run
T - 4.5 mi run
W - 11 mi run
T - 4.5 mi run + 3500 yd swim
F - 8.2 mi run + 1000 yd swim
S - 14 mi run + 1h yoga
S - 9 mi run + swim meet (2700 yds, races = 500 (6:24) and 1000 (13:05))

totals: 58.2 mi run, 7200 yd swim, 1 h yoga


Goals for this week: 10k swim, let the running take care of itself, hip and shoulder exercises at least once, finish thesis edits.

usual: 7 runs in 7 days
best: my first ever 50+ mile running week; finding out I can swim a lot faster than I thought
worst: some personal stuff that ate up a lot of time and created a lot of stress, which led to no bikes, and only 2 swims

Sounds like your week went pretty well, too. Are you getting back into the routine of the semester?

No coasting in running and no crying in baseball

I am definitely better than last week. Yes, finding a routine. How was your week? Hope the butt/hamstring issues are sorting themselves out.

My week was ok.

WORST - was that I pulled my other glut (right side now). That made my running take a nose dive. Every time I get up to 70 mpw running I get hurt. I will not do that again.

BEST - that my glut does not hurt when I bike, so I had a good biking week - finally!

Monday - rest
Tuesday - Ran 6 miles a.m., and biked 1:30 hours p.m.
Wednesday Ran 9 miles a.m. (not a good choice), and biked 1 hour p.m.
Thursday - second full day of rest because of glut and life. UGH
Friday - Ran 5 miles a.m., biked 1 hour p.m.
Saturday Ran 5 miles , biked 2:10
Sunday Ran 5 miles, biked 1:35

Total
Biked 7:16
Ran 31.5

Goals for this coming week.
continue biking - add a little to long ride
increase running slightly
get a massage
increase swimming
core / weights x 2.

I was training all out for Boston. But now Boston is going to be a nice training run for IM Houston.
