the sugoi tri shortie may work for you - i'm short-waisted and end up folding them down, but they're great shorts. silicone leg grippers, a nice little pocket (just big enough for a gel flask) on the back of the right hip, drawstring waist, excellent fabric.

the link below appears to be a newer version.

Look at Desoto Forza or Desoto Carrerra. The girls here put me on to them.

I like the sugoi tri shortie (although I prefer the 3" version over the 4"). Aside from the TYR briefs, that is the only short I have ever raced in.

I have the 2XU Women's Comp Tri Short and I love them! They are made of nice thick fabric and have a great leg band that doesn't make you're legs look like sausages. They do have pretty minimal padding though so are best for sprints and olympic distance. I also got them for $35 at an apparel tent after a race, so I wouldn't pay any more than $50 retail, because you can definitely find them cheaper.

In terms of sizing, I got a medium which are fine but probably should have gone with small. (I am 5'8" and 150 lbs)

good luck!
