Congrats on the AG win and a PR on that course.
825y is a "long" swim for a sprint! That's awesome :D I am curious, how many waves, how many lanes, and did you split a lane? I did a sprint 2 weekends ago and with 12 people in the pool at once, it still took forever --- I had finished and showered and there were still people starting their heats. That was for a 525y swim. I guess I'm wondering how you all get away with a half-mile-ish pool swim.

hope you're well :-)

maybe she's born with it, maybe it's chlorine
If you're injured and need some sympathy, PM me and I'm very happy to write back.

The swim has about 15-16 lanes, 2 swimmers per lane, total of 10 waves. They start with the slower swimmers first so they clear the course quicker. First wave started at 6am, last wave went off at about 9am. Race capacity is around 350 participants.

Cool.

We only have one pool that big around here, and I think it actually only has 14 lanes. :P

Nice race report. It was a good event, second time I have done it. Seemed like the 40 - 44 AG was really competitive. Great job on your race.

Nice race report Billy. Just a quick correction, I think you meant "Total time for T1, bike and T2…40:03, 10th fastest on the day" rather than the 30:03 in your race report. At a 30:03, you'd shatter Chris Lieto's bike course record by a few minutes!

Nope, 30:03 is correct. Chris's record however is still safe at 24:43 ;)

The new stuff is nice. The legs are a little longer and they fit a bit snugger. The pad is also nice...thicker than most tri shorts but comfortable off the bike.

My bad, I read that as your Swim-T1-Bike-T2 combined, and was thinking, "I saw a lot of fast guys, but don't remember anyone going that fast!". I apologize for misreading your race report.

Great race report!

Nice report! I'm a huge lurker here in the forums and it's nice to see the faces attached to screen names online. After getting hit in early April, I did the race on my trainer bike (99 dollar Nashbar frame with Wheelcover :P) with a recovering still broken wrist. But I still managed a 3rd in my age group and my fastest bike split which is odd with a supposed slower bike. The swim was quite painful though :/ Stinks because it's my strongest leg.

Oh well, good job out there!
