8x50 on 1:00 ranged from :30 to :35 w/last :29 some were free down & fly back
50 cool down (not much of one, but needed to jet off to work)

Okay, another injury means another (forced) swim focus. I've had good results this season off less swimming than years past, but my competition appear to be closing the gap in the water. Back at it...

I did 3000 scy straight yesterday. Stopped because of calf cramps.

I really need to swim less and bike more. Big time. I said that last month too.

Sure. This thread is for posting your swim workouts. We have a google spreadsheet (I can send you access if you PM me with your email address) that we track yards on --- ie, your yards each day. We started that way before ST even had a training log and we've kept it going. You can also make a goal of a total # of swims per week or for the month, or a distance goal.


The purpose is swim motivation and camaraderie.

2300 meters , 1000 warm up , 5-200's and 2-100's followed by 2-50's the 2 - 100's and 2- 50's were hard and I mean fast hard, well at least for me. Funny by the end of this month I will have more swimming in then I did all last year. It's got's to pay some dividends one way or another.

Been using this one quite a bit lately, it's got a little of everything I need... intervals, stoke drills, kick sets.

500 Warm up x100's
1, 3, 5 Free
2, 4 Stroke

4x100, Rest 0:30
by 25's: Kick, Free, Drill, Free

8x100 on 2:00 @1:30 (or Rest 0:30)
1&2 Free, 3&4 Pull, 5&6 Free, 7&8 Pull

6x50 Rest 0:20
1, 3, 5 Kick
2, 4, 6 Pull

100 cool down

Total 2400 SCM

Time trial day; 100 free on :59 and 500 on 6:02. Very happy about the 100, but slightly disappointed in the 500 (oh so wanted to break 6:00, probably should've rested a couple minutes longer, legs were seriously cramped, /excuses).

Whatever the misgivings I've had, definite progress! Peaked at a 5:52 500 in the summer, but I was also swimming exclusively (120,000 yards in July), and took all of October/November off from the pool. If I could get to the 5:40s in the next couple months, I'll be stoked.
