Here's my contribution, maybe the new diet isn't working.

Full Felt household, the DA lives with: a F5 Summer bike, early F5C Winter Bike and Son's Q24 MTB

Here's my Black Lightning (yes, I name all my bikes):

Got it very cheap on sale at Wiggle (half the price of a Cervelo P2). Had the bottle cage for years, finally got a bike to match it. Also chose black pedals for completeness.

Nice touch. A couple of suggestions as you break it in and get settled on a position. The extensions are designed to be delivered uncut and trimmed to fit by the dealer. I assume you got this bike in the box so some of that set up is going to be required by you. The arm rests also appear too high relative to the extensions. The hand position should be in plane with the arm rest. There are spacers under the arm rest that can be removed to dial in that height. I'd also suggest that you slide the arm rests behind the base bars and flip the offset to the front, rather than the rear. You have the elements of a good fit started, just some clean up and better execution will help you really put some spark on Black Lightning.

If it were me, I would go all out and wrap the extensions with http://www.competitivecyclist.com/...-tape-5432.27.1.html instead of the white. I have the black/blue on my road bike and it is SICK! Possible saddle change with that, too, but only if comfort remains. . nice job though, very hot bike.

Thanks! As you said, I got it in a box. I know your/Felt's opinion on buying your bikes that way, unfortunately the LBS:s in my region (Sweden) typically only carries carbon Treks and Cervelos at 2-3 times the price of this bike.
I will look into your suggestions as I get used to the bike. It was more comfy than my old clip-on-roadie right out of the box though (maybe no surprise).

Some of the Garmin team bikes had custom forks and stems 3cm lower than the production bikes to make up for the large stack on the 3T aerobars. These special forks were not needed when the guys rode OVAL parts with their slimmer profile and lower aerobar mounting positions. The DEVOX bars are similar to OVAL in that they have a low bar-clamp-to-arm-rest rise.

About the Slipstream DA;

All I know is that the combo 08 frame and 09 fork was the exact setup used for that extra long TT on the GIRO in O9.
The position I got the bike with was crazy, I could not hold for 5 km let alone 180! And the aero bottle would rest on the front wheel. Got rid of the carbon handlebars too, did not like the sensation.

PROS:
-Seat post easy to adjust.
-The paint job is great.
-Fabrication is spotless.
-The older DuraAce is fitted. I don't like the new one.
-It rides like a road bike and is even capable on the pavé if you keep the speed up.
-Best climbing TT bike I've ever ridden.
-Easy to clean.
-Mounts on the home trainer Ok.
-I've ridden it "cyclo cross" across a flooded field to get to a T2 zone - It did great =)

Cons
-The rear brake is very hard to adjust - would have been easier to take a front brake and mount it UNDER the frame - Or a rear brake reversing the pads.
-The adjusting bolts in the rear entry drop outs are too small, and are in a size that does not correspond to ISO allen wrenches. I'll get them rebored someday.
-The head set is fiddly and badly designed - and creaks.
-A clicking from the bottom bracket that eludes me...
-In the rain + wind with 808's, it's a handfull, very nervous and prone to losing the front - more than other bikes I've ridden.

Overall, it's a wonderfull TT bike

Updated pics of my Felt AR1 posted earlier. Added black a Cobb V-Flow Max saddle, Rotor Aero Q Rings, and Sram S80 wheels. Still my favorite bike to ride that I own.

How does the AR compare with an F-Series?

I have an F-5 Summer Bike and and older F-5C in Winter Clothes (mudguards/fenders, bitza groupset plus heavy wheels). Contemplating upgrading the Summer Bike, but thinking either a new F-Series or an AR, it would only be for Sportives and very hilly Tri's (maybe Challenge Henley), as the DA is good for all but the hilliest Tri courses.

Any opinions from the Felt Mafia?
