"Macgyvered" set ups
Anyone have any pictures of any cockpit setups that had to be altered for personal comfort or functionality? Or just "cool" factor. Eg. Lieto's aero bottle.

Anyone who is serious about riding has messed with out of the box equipment, modifications,etc...
Look at the pro bikes... all custom tweaks.

That's the point.

Help each other out. Maybe something is not working out with someone and they need that fix.

I've cut the first two straps on my road shoes off. Then put a zip tie through the third so the strap wouldn't slip through the buckle. So you're not trying to thread a strap through a buckle while trying to get a foot in your shoe, while riding.

Here is my old one. Brake levers and calipers are for sale in the classified ads.

zip tied bottle holder wouldn't work with the scott 100k so I had to build something out of a cup holder bike accessory, a vision aero holder, and a vision armrest screw

You want Mcgyvered? See CDW's cockpit. Its close to "Wonder of the World" status. As in wonder how in the hell it doesn't fall apart in the middle of a race type of wonder. Ugly chic.

A few years ago I had a Hed Jet 60 blow up on me so I got the bright Idea to hack up the carbon and make a rear seat bottle mount w that a ton of zip ties and a dryer clamp. It worked ok and was lighter than the aftermarket ones but at the cost of a Hed front wheel quite a bit more expensive. Needless to say my friends called me TJ Tollakson for it, wish I was that fast!

Stephen J: Apologies if I'm being really thick, but where *are* the brake levers on that setup? How does that work?

Bottle cage between the bars - not too original, but highly functional:

What I like to call AeroLight - I finally found a use for the PD Aero Bottle bracket that I never use:

Don't be hatin' on cdw - he's got that bad boy all chopped and lowered.
All's he needs is some dingle balls and neon, maybe a bit of chrome, and he's ready to cruise.

Low and slow baby.

It's a little off topic, but I've always enjoyed Conrad and his Macgyverness.

Did you visit before or after I had perfected my Obree-egg position? Let's just say it now contains a Look ergostem sticking straight up, two other stems, a cut-off mtb bar and bar ends, a block of wood and duct tape. :)

No,
I actually talking about the original QS2. It is basically a knob which is actuated in ANY direction you prefer with a spring return. It had a lever which held on to the knob with a pinch clamp.

You showed me the egg setup. I never saw you riding it. I drive past you heading back out of Joshua Tree one morning as I was headed up into the park, but you were sitting up for some reason. Put up the pics. Your Yaqui deserves a place of honor in this thread.
