Photos from the back of the NYC marathon

Mile 11, around pace 5:00. i slept in, but fortunately the race passes within two blocks of my apartment.

Be duly warned that I'm no great photographer & the camera is low end. Nonetheless, an excellent representation of the "if you had fun, you won" mentality.

Go to something like Snapfish.com, sign up (it's free) and upload your pictures into your album. Then you can take those pictures, highlight one, right click the mouse to "copy" and drag it into your post here at Slowtwitch (keep both windows open).

Actually, the real problem was that I don't use Internet Explorer, and the photo applet isn't available in Firefox. If someone felt like sending a PM with instructions for successfully inserting HTML into posts, it would save me some effort & RAM. :)

Oh may god! You don't use I.E.? What, you're not comfortable hanging with the rest of the flock of conformist sheep, of which I'm a proud member? ;-)

Let's see if I can find my html paperstuff...........back in a bit.

Anybody else out there have it handy?

hey, no judgement... but i read bugtraq often enough (and clean enough spyware infections from clients' machines) that i'd rather run firefox on my personal machine. tabbed browsing is pretty sweet, too.

what i'm looking for is the slowtwitch (or UBB or whatever)-specific code that will make <IMG SRC="http://forum.slowtwitch.com/images/stlogo.gif"> (for example) actually display an image.

Great pics! Believe it or not, I was running with many of those people, so you missed me by just a few seconds! I ran behind those 2 guys with the flags for a bit and I passed "Woody" at mile 13. I had a disappointing race (4:52), but I finished so that's something to be proud of. Very tough day. Too hot and my calves cramped incredibly at mile 16. Still was an amazing day. The Brooklyn crowds were the best!!! Way better than Manhattan!

<The Brooklyn crowds were the best!!! Way better than Manhattan> Hmm,I dont totally agree with you there. Dont get me wrong, the Brooklyn crowds were very supportive, especially up Fourth ave.,but nothing beats the energy you draw off of the spectators that line First ave. in Manhattan.:) I had a pretty good day.Went 3:28. Good job on your race! You shouldnt feel disapointed .It was alot hotter than normal, and the NYC course is pretty tough.

I've heard so much about those crowds on 1st, but by the time I went by they were pretty quiet. I was really surprised. I guess they were tired out by the time I crawled by! :)

Congrats on your race too!

I was probably going onto 1st Ave. about the same time as you Dawn, or a little later (I was near the guy in teh Rhino suit!). Anyway, I was surprised by how subdued the people were at the end of the 59th St. bridge. Not a clap. The people further up 1st made up for them, though.

Brooklyn fans were great, constant support. Of course at a given spot in Brooklyn they have the race going by for about an hour, while in Manhattan there are hours to fill up....

Anyway, a fun city to run in.
