I know it's not in the right gearing, but I was too excited not to share my new ride. It was bought from and built by STer stal. I'm always impressed by the people in the triathlon community.

Negative. It's just a Caliente. I am not CD0.1 worthy.

I'm going to need a gov't stimulus check (and a marriage counselor) if I was going to buy a CD 0.1.

They are Bontrager Race Lite Bottle Cages. They've worked really well for me so far (meaning no flying bottles), plus it helps that they go with the color scheme.

I was the guy behind this guy. He is not a triathlete so I knew he would never post it on here so I did. I built the bike for him. I can put you in touch with him if you would like his direct feedback.
I do know...that he is absolutely in love with this bike. He has the biggest stupid grin every time he gets off of it.
Its in the shop today for the Vuma Crono crank install and setting his disc and front up for a stage race coming up...

Vuma Chrono huh? Must be nice going from a Vuma quad to the chrono. I was very impressed with the chrono at interbike and equally impressed with Look's ZED crankset. Post pics when you get it installed or I guess I can check it out in person when I see him again. What components are on the bike. I could not identify them.

My plane jane P2SL, but that didnt stop me from spending easily 50 hours tweaking it for this season. Mostly tweaking set-up and fit and some bike mods like customizing the T2 bars and the arm pads. Notice how far back the arm pads are. But I got to 150 deg knee angle, 90 hip angle, 90 degree arm to body angle and a pretty flat back by feel!! Put on the gauges and dartfish video and it was spot on.

That is a very nice build. So I guess he is a roadie and this is his TT bike. Is he gonna let you borrow it come race day? When are those R2C's going to be released? I have been hearing many different things.

He will do some duathlons...maybe a tri. Mostly he will relay it though. He is wicked fast on that thing.
I have my own tt rigs to roll so I won't be borrowing his. Plus since the Gurus are custom...his does not have fit me as well as mine...though mine is not nearly as nice.
Not sure on the R2Cs, I have several customers waiting on them. They will pop up eventually and when they do...you will see them on my blog or on here

I really like this build... lots of smart bang-for-buck decisions, like the wheel choices. Have you got a wheelcover for flat races?

Thank you! I have a wheelcover from Wheelbuilder for that PT/303 wheel. I use it for training TT's now. I also have...a Zipp Sub9 which I use for A races! yeah-kind of blows the whole I am on a budget thing doesnt it? The worst part is its the only thing in 10+ years thats on a credit card in my house!! DAMN cycling!! :)
My next thing is I want to clean up that front end. Its a mess of clamps and mounts. A front on shot looks like a complete mess of crap under the clip-ons. Ive done some drilliing and shaving, but it only helps marginally. I am sure there are seconds to be saved in getting a nice one piece bar/stem/clip-on set-up. But how with my set-up?

Ray
This is 2008. I'm a bit more narrow up front, arms more 90 degrees and bars a lot shorter for 2009. Much shorter cranks and the seat a tick further forward too.

if you have the money you are CDA0.1 worthy. In fact if you had one, you would probably ride it harder just to prove you are not a poser. Now a Cervelo with olympic rings is another story... that one you better live or ride up to it.

Nice bike! I had a caliente and really liked the ride quality, its very smooth.

Every morning a gazelle wakes up knowing, it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed...
Every morning a lion wakes up knowing it must outwit and outrun (at least) the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death...
It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up, you'd better start running.
