Happy New Year Cathy!

Mine:
- IMC with a time better than IMWA (totally doable)
- 2 half IMs with a goal of just feeling good, strong.
- Remain injury free all year and especially recover well from IMC to allow me to aim for Comrades 2010
- Drop 15lbs (also totally doable)
- Non-fitness goal: Be a better mom.

AP

PS: remembered this one: ditch the blog. I don't have time to update it regularly and I'm tired of feeling guilty about it. Maybe even delete the facebook profile. AP

Yay 2009! A new year and new goals.

Training goals:

1. Recommit to my fitness and be in better shape at the beginning of 2010 than I am at the beginning of 2009. I want to be a fabulous 40.
2. Run longer than I've ever run before. A lot longer.
3. Find the right body weight that balances strength and size for the best possible run performance. I refuse to set a number.

Non-training goals:

4. Go someplace I've never been before.
5. Make new friends
6. Pay off credit cards and most of car
7. Stay employed :-)
8. Give more to charity - time, money and/or supplies

Happy New Year everyone!

My goals this year:

* Have a great race at IM Canada - this is my first IM distance, so I'm defining "a good race" as: arriving at the start line uninjured and ready to go, race to the best of my abilities on race day and have a great time.

* Improve my running - I want to be able to run further/faster and not totally hate the whole experience. I've already kickstarted this with the whole 100/100 challenge and it's definitely helping.

* Join a masters group for swimming again - I'm slow, so it's scary to swim with the fishes, but I know I'll be better for it.

* And finally, get the damn nutrition under control.

Happy New Year!

Sport-related:
1. Finish a marathon and feel good about it. Train smart to be there injury-free. Re-establish the enjoyment of running I had pre-Silverman
2. Decide what distance really is my favorite - do another 2 HIM and improve time/experience
3. Lay it on the line and race a race - gut busting, awful feeling racing and finish proud.
4. Run 1,000 miles.
5. Start swiming with a master's group - investigate return to swim meets

Non-sport related
1. Tone & get the body healthy again - food & gym
2. Get a handle on the food consumption - write it down

Tri related

1. Under 3:30 at Boston, should be easy, but only do it if it won't kill me (take too long to recover). Run Boston for fun, because I can, but don't let it impact the rest of the season too much.
2. Under 1 hour swim at IMLP
3. Stay injury free
4. Qualify for Kona
5. under 10:30 IM

Non Tri related:

1. Expand the business and hire 1-2 more technicians
2. Volunteer more
3. Raise money through Janus for IMLP.

Desert Classic Du
CA 70.3
All 3 local tris
California TTT
IMAZ
core work 300/365 days
log all workouts

Non-tri related:
continue to foster a cohesive working environment, lots of changes coming up
no candy for the month of Jan
eat as cleanly as possible
get used to being single for the first time in almost 5 years
become more active in my tri club (ok that's kinda tri related)

Good luck to everyone, and happy new year!

I am planning to come for two weeks in June, maybe with my 15 year old daughter--if I can get her in good bike shape. I plan to ride a ton, trail run, hang out, etc. I lived in Lake Havasu for a year back in 98-99 and haven't been back to AZ since (live in IN now), so I'm very excited to plan this trip. I'd love a riding partner while there, if I can keep up!

Hey Amy,

Check out Mozy.com it's what I use at work and home to back up everything. If you aren't looking to back up a lot of photos then you can probably back up for free. Anything over 2G is $4.95 a month.

I also have a lot of documents on Google documents, or in my Gmail. Nothing with a lot of sensitive info, but things I don't want to lose. I can access everything quickly from anywhere.

My #1 goal: get pregnant. Hasn't happened successfully so far, so in the interim:

- Swim 500 in 7:30
- Run consistently without injury
- Learn to enjoy biking again
- Beat Guy at WOU sprint triathlon and/or Beaver Freezer tri (local sprint triathlons)

Big picture: balance interests, be a good friend, appreciate what life has to offer, be a good pet owner and love my animal babies more than ever, cheer for my husband while he trains and kicks butt at IM Cozumel, and find time to be peaceful.

2009 goals.
1. Race a half IM. In other words, feel like I'm going fairly 'hard' for the entire race. So far I've done that for the swim and bike but not the run. Hoping this will result in a PR. I'm doing Spirit of Racine and Muskoka.
2. PR in 5k running race. Current PR is 24:35 - that's with undiagnosed asthma and a fairly flat course. I'm hoping I can bust through that with the right asthma meds. Husband thinks I can do a 21. That would floor me and be so awesome.
3. Break 30 seconds in the 50 yd free - current best is 30.6
4. Consistently run 25-30 miles per week, especially over the winter.
