how to make my new black bike girly
I just bought an Orbea Ordu, black with while lettering (see below) I am looking ideas for girly-ing it up....like maybe some baby blue handlebar tape? decals? I am open for suggestions ( I am getting a specialized seat, white with a faint pale blue thread in it.
Here is the eyecandy. Unfortunately, I was unable to afford Craig Alexander after paying for the bike.

Nice bike. I have an orange and black ordu from a couple years ago.

I think around here you'll hear PINK, but any color seat and bar wraps would do the trick, and pedals to match (I think someone makes colored ones) and some decals. If you have race wheels you can have decals done for those too to.

No. I have a pink skull on my 'cross bike. It's just tough girly.

I spoke with them at InterBike, and they're up for changing the colors of any of their present designs and even doing full customs as well.

And it's a a terribly nice bike I might add. Congratulations.

What are you talking about? Pink is the new manly color. If you want to do girly, keep it black because everyone knows that black bikes are the bikes that chicks ride that want to crush dreams. And all the guys wearing pink are going after dream crushing girls these days.

You can get your name on a decal. For just a little touch, get your name in script in pink. A little something to personalize it and add the "I'm a girl so deal with it" attitude.

That's a really great looking bike. Keep it simple. Matching seat and handlebar tape. And that's about it.

Don't change it. As it is now, it is the little black dress of bikes.
Well, perhaps you could get it a little strand of pearls to hang around the headset.

As I see it, you've got two possible approaches - either match the bike to your own girliness, or modify your girliness to match the badass bike. If choosing the latter approach, then select your tri clothing, sunglasses, helmet, and overall attitude with this sort of fashion statement in mind:

If you'd rather go with the former, then I'd suggest a large floral graphic on your rear wheel cover. Seriously. It'd be cool.

Take a leaf out of the UK pro team Rapha Condor. Pink and Black is the way to go.

Appropriate wheeltags, as mentioned by previous poster.
Pink Jagwire cable outers
Pink bar tape
Pink speedplay pedals - not sure if any other manufacturer does pink
Pink name decal

Apologies for the limited eye candy

Baby blue accents would also work if you can get em. Having said that, I'm a man and therefore am not allowed to comment on colour co-ordination.

Sorry about the blank post. nice bike!!

I saw a competitor at my last tri, she looked notably awesome. Her bike was sleek and black. Mostly she had on black riding gear but with some pink accents. I admired her look and noted that is all one really needs to get the point across.

That said, handlebar tape comes in many colors...I like the decal idea.

Enjoy! this is a "good problem" to have!! :-)

The bike looks great the way it is. Don't even change the cables. It will loose its soul.

I'd say if you're determined to do 'something' to the bike and it sounds like you are, then just do a few spiffy 'accent' colors and call it good.
The black and a few splashes of pink here and there is very nice.

don't mind the necroposting spammer - jemesbond obviously hasn't figured out this isn't a forum of motorcyclists, and this thread is from 2008.

cheers!
