With the recent announcement of an IM 70.3 in Calgary (and the registration cost of $250) I once again ponder the reason why 70.3 events are so pricey. Just as an example, the Subaru HALF Triathlon ("half ironman" distances) in Peterborough cost $118 to pre-register. What exactly does double the price get you in Muskoka and (now) in Calgary? Do I get more than cold pizza for lunch?
