What would you choose: new car or new bike?
I think we all can relate to the weird things we think about while working out, so here goes.
While I was riding today I thought of a fun question:

If you could choose right now, would you want a new car or a new bike?

It was difficult for me (for a second). I have a 2008 FJ Cruiser that I LOVE (her name is Betty Sue). But I also have a 2 month old Guru Crono that I also LOVE (her name is Mavis). My answer would be a new road bike. I'm riding a 2 year old Cannondale Synapse that is great, no complaints... but after riding my Crono I think a new roadie would be awesome.

Ok ladies, what's your choice? ;-)

Who is paying for it?

I need another bike more than I need a new car. My truck only has 50,000 miles on it.

I bought a new Audi A3 *and* a new Cervelo carbon soloist last year. Love both. At this point another bike would be awesome, either a mtn bike or (preference) a track bike. mmmmmm.... new bike...

However, if $ were no object:

2009 Audi R8.

Then I would die and go to heaven. Where I would dream of bikes.

Drooling. Love the Audi.
It would have to be a new car for me. Got a 08 P2C, but a 00 GTI. If I could afford to do it, a brand new GTI would be in the works.

Road bike. With a granny gear -- I have serious triple envy when out on group rides with roadies. Now, I will drool...

I don't know why but after meeting you...I just never pictured you as a truck person. I know...it is wrong to judge people so it has got me thinking. Why did I think that. I really have no idea but I really have never thought of you as a truck person especially with the parking issues in the city. :-)

And what did you picture me as? ;-)
My first car was a '69 Camaro. Better?

Yeah, parking sucks, but you can take three boys, me and four bikes to the velodrome!

I never thought of it. That is probably why my initial thought has got me thinking. Part of it is "why would I think XYZ of her." Granted I think part of that is due to parking in the city. I will trade you my '49 Dodge pickup for your '69 Camaro :-)

Any thoughts on who to offer the room to?

I drive a 1998 Honda Civic and ride a serotta road bike and a new P2C. So I think I would go with new car. My car is getting to the stage where I love not having a car payment but I keep having to dump more money in it to keep it happy that it makes me wonder if I should just buy a new car.

I just got a new road bike yesterday! Had it's first ride in godawful wind...it rocked!

I would pick a new mountain bike.

I'd post the pics but am too lazy at this moment!

My god that sounds like my ultimate fantasy. 3 boys, 4 bikes and a trip to the velodrome. Can Theo Bos be one of the boys? Pretty please? ;)

that said OF COURSE I would take a new bike over a new car. :D

New bikes... classic cars... until now I just couldn't quite put my finger on what was right with this forum!!!

YES

There is nothing like showing up at a race with your new(er) bike(s) in your older pickup, a 72 Chev longbed stepside, or '69 Mustang.

Ug. I'd have to say car because my bikes are doing well, but my car is pretty old (97) and on the way out.
If I had a car in good shape, I'd pick a new bike in a heart beat!

I LOVE THE VELODROME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The starts with a holder, you sit up and put your arm around your holder (and his arm around your waist since he's going to "throw" you) until you are ready to go. My favorite holder, let's just say, we could have waited all night to start the race. ;-)
