Have fun!

The Chiefs may need some spare ankle tendons and ligaments to Keep Patrick "Over My dead Body" Mahomes on the go.

Going to be a good game, I don't see this being a blow out either way.

Whether he was a QB or not, Mahomes was almost beyond the white stripe when he was touched. It wasn’t as if he was right on the line. He was WAY out of bounds. They will make this kind of all 9,999 times out of 10,000. And the flawed logic that a call like this shouldn’t determine a game is asinine. The rules are the rules and don’t put the refs in the position to make the call. He hit him. Out of bounds. It is a penalty. End of story.

Agreed, I hate that line of thinking. If it's a penalty in the middle of a preseason blowout, it's a penalty on the final drive of the AFC championship game. We can't have referees interpreting when the rules apply and when they don't.

That's just loser talk. Not a new phenomenon but increasingly prevalent these days. If I didn't win it's because of all these other factors.

I totally agree

It was definitely a late hit. You need to watch the replay.

If you have to go to replay to prove it was a penalty....

In real time it didn’t.... at that point in the game with such a ticky tack late hit the flag stays in my pocket

Remember this came after the phone call to instruct then to call intentional grounding

Mahomes and KC brings move TVs than two states that border each other.... two African American starting QBs... hobbled but will pull a Jordan

Well it apparently looked like a late hit in real time to the refs, and the broadcast crew. And none of the Bengals players or coaches seemed to protest the call.

People whine about “just wanting the refs to get it right” and then whine if they use replay or the booth to get it right.

I hate replay. I don't mind human variability in the game

Human variability is exactly what you got with that referee calling that hit out of bounds, or are you only OK with it when you agree?

have you read any of Ossai's comments this morning? He readily admits he hit him out of bounds. I have no idea how anyone could call that a clean hit.

One of his teammates was recorded asking why he would even touch the QB, and saying that it should be his last year with the Bengals (using colorful language). He was pissed.

You are a fucking idiot.

You don't think the fix was in?

I don't have a horse in the race, Bears have overall #1 locked up

We’re sure they’ll do better then when they had the #2 pick and took Mitchell Trubisky when Mahomes was available.

This argument has been going on forever, and there are two camps:

1. You can't call that THERE
2. You ALWAYS have to call that

And you are free to change which campfire you sit around based on how it impacts "your" team.

In general, this is not how I like my sports to end, on some ticky tack shove when both players were running full steam ahead for yardage...especially when they were NOT calling it on the other team earlier in the same game.

According to Patrick Mahomes Sr., the Bears told PM Jr. that they were going to draft him, but then for some crazy reason, changed their mind and drafted Trubisky. I think things worked out exactly like they were supposed to.

For all of the old eyes. :-)

In 49ers news...

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has a complete tear in the UCL in his throwing elbow and will get further opinions on surgery, a league source confirmed to The Athletic on Monday.

Purdy has two options after rupturing the UCL (ulnar collateral ligament) in his right elbow. The first option is a complete reconstruction, aka Tommy John surgery. While his recovery wouldn’t extend as long as it typically does for an MLB pitcher, it could still sideline him for around seven to nine months. During this procedure, the old UCL is replaced with a graft, typically a tendon from elsewhere in the athlete’s body. Tommy John surgery is incredibly rare for NFL quarterbacks.

The second option is an internal brace procedure, where the native UCL is repaired and reinforced with a strong tape-like suture. It is then attached to the humerus (upper arm bone) and ulna (one of two bones in the forearm) with anchors. If the UCL can be repaired, this is a much better scenario with a shorter recovery. Six months is a realistic timeline to return if the ligament can be salvaged.

The decision between a repair or total reconstruction will depend on the location and severity of the tear. Purdy should be able to return next season with a strong and stable elbow, but lingering soreness is common. If the UCL is repaired he has a shot at being ready to play in Week 1. This is less likely to happen with Tommy John surgery, although he should be ready in the first half of the season.

Jimmy G will leave as FA, Trey Lance is still not the man, and Purdy out 6-12 mths. Yup, Brady will come home to roost for at least a year.

So Karon Rodgers to the Jets?

That would make sense with his old OC there. That and he will bring a little too much drama to the Bay.
