My 7 yr old reached in and grabbed the remaining egg with dude still in the box. We didn't check eggs for 4 days and got robbed by a healthy pair of eastern rat snakes.

One time last year, the Wife noticed some odd behavior coming from our girls in the backyard. They were all lined up at attention and occasionally pecking. And they stayed that way for several minutes. She went to investigate and they had a fairly large garter snake basically pinned to position. They weren't having Frank (what we named the garter) steal any of their eggs. I eventually went and shushed the girls away so Frank could leave the yard. I can't imagine what would have happened to him if he made it into their coop area.
