Seems like every time I've noticed it that's been the way it works anyway when they have those signs that say buy x number for y each. If you buy less than x you get the y price anyway.

In this particular store it’s usually a deal. For instance yesterday I bought 3 packs of apple sauce for $2.39 each rather than $2.79 each for one.

I always buy 3 loaves of bread at Walmart. 3 for $6 or $2.40 each.
