Cross checks to the head area

If you are a Maple Leaf playing the Bruins you get suspended for the rest of the series.

If you are Bruin you get a $5000 fine.

Good work NHL "Player safety".

How does Danny Hart sit down with balls that big?

The New England Journal of Medicine recently published a study that suggests "Cross checks to the head area" are the leading cause of previously healthy people becoming Maple Leafs fans.

Was a corollary symptom delusions that the Maple Leafs are perennial cup contenders?

Or, if you're Corey Perry and the Stars, you can hit a D-man who is in the act of shooting and knock him out (like unconscious), and out of the game and on the IR for 44 days (thus far) and only get 3 games. But you do have to take the longest ever walk of shame. Total douchebag.

One of my infamous claims to fame is being taken to centre ice to shoot the puck in Chicago, and booed for the opportunity....... As was every bloke selected at every match I attended from 98-03

If the NHL took player safety and dirty play even remotely seriously, Boston wouldn't even be able to put a team on the ice.

Long Chile was a silly place.

For those calling for a suspension, especially from north of the border, when Jake Muzzin gets a ban for his crushing elbow to Ondrej Kase’s head or Lawson Crouse’s check of Charlie McAvoy’s face earns a suspension, then we can talk. It’s hockey, it’s a fast game, tempers rise, players cross the line and they get penalties. Sometimes they get fined. Suspensions should be reserved for plays where there’s actual intent to injure, not for in-game action or even pre-faceoff jousting.

In game jousting. Nice one.

It was a cross check to the throat. It was what Kadri did to McAvoy.

The other BS excuse I am hearing from you Broons fans is that Chara is too tall and he somehow after playing for 20 years hasn’t learned that yet. Maybe suspend him for being an imbecile then.

The reason they built the hockey hall of fame in Toronto is so the leafs fans could see the cup too.

Maybe the new deputy director for player safety took into account the reputation and past 20 years play as comparison to Kadri? What is the talk in the NHL hockey land capital of this new guy who was a within the rules enforcer as a player and is now the head cop? Were he and Chara bros? Was this a matter of a face to face inquisition before assigning penalty? An yeah I know I am being lazy, but you really did not argue your case all that well up front.
