Does this mean wetsuits will now be made with larger crotch area to account for stiffies during the swim?

The Navy is more interested in deeper water activity, diving in particular. Surface swimming is very unlikely to cause any problem, unless perhaps you're swimming the English Channel, or other super long distance.

I posted the link to the volunteer page on another thread. They are looking for swimmers and triathletes for the study. They submerse you up to your neck in cold water as you ride a stationary bike. They just are looking for any athlete who has experienced SIPE.

My friend is a top 5 AG swimmer and DNF lake George last year because he was coughing up orange slime in the water. Breaststroking from buoy to buoy until he got out after 50+ minutes.

I'm picturing something like a fin pocket like on the bottom of surfboards

Pro Tour cycling teams have used this for at least 5 years.

Gotta remain fully torqued at all times. Josh at Silica wanted torque stories for his podcast. This hopefully makes the cut lol

I was watching Real Sports w/ Bryant Gumbel on HBO and they were covering the drug use and abuse of race horses in America. Surprisingly one of the drugs they use on Race Horses specifically for performance is Viagra.

Duke has been doing this testing for a couple of years now. I have s female friend who had 2 SIPE events during races. She went to Duke and started using the drug. As far as I know she hasn’t had any further issues to date.

Sounds like a good preventative measure. You’d think Viagra would be the very definition of a ‘Performance Enhancing Drug’.

I believe Viagra was originally developed to treat pulmonary hypertension and then they discovered the very, vert lucrative side effect.
