new wheel tech enables really wide tires with no aero penalty?

I figured there'd be a lively conversation going about this, but I don't see any threads referencing it.

"...there’s some new wheel technology currently sold and on the horizon that appears to be minimizing or – gasp – eliminating any aerodynamic penalty from (really) wide tires. Stay tuned!"

Other than the usual incremental improvements from computer modeling and wind tunnel testing, is there some new technology I'm missing?

I guess that all depends on how you define "aerodynamic penalty"... ;-)

I think that "eliminating any" was a poor choice of words.

The "gasp" suggests it was a rather intentional choice of words, though. I suppose we'll just have to wait for the article that's supposedly coming...
