RIP Harry Anderson

Loved him in Night Court. Also his recurring role in a few episodes of Cheers.

Only 65 years old, supposedly died of natural causes.

Want he a magician too? Without googling him, I seem to remember something about magic. I liked his characters too, he seemed to have dropped out of TV after that time, either that or I just didn't watch his shows..

What a great show that was!

John Larquette was hilarious, probably couldn't do that character today

Night Court was one of those shows that had an edge to it (News Radio was another) that separated it from other sitcoms. RIP Harry.

I believe the premise was shown in the first couple episodes that he was a magician/con man who somehow became/was appointed a judge

Everyone forgets Ellen Foley

She provided the female vocals on Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell [especially "Paradise by the Dashboard Light"] She also dated Mick Jones of The Clash; "Train in Vain" and "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" were written about her

Many years ago I saw Ellen Foley on Broadway I believe playing the female lead in bye-bye Birdie.

Per the article linked in OP:

Quote:
In addition, he was an accomplished magician, even opening a magic shop in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Met him once. Came into a shop in Toronto I was managing. Sold lots of science stuff for all ages.
Very shy man.
Meet ringo starr there as well.
Sad, I enjoyed night court.

No one has mentioned he was Harry the Hat in Cheers before Night Court.. Some of the best Cheers episodes. Very sad news.
