I knpw several women, my wife included, who ride the Terry womens saddle and love it. Indeed, I ride the mens version and find it pretty comfortable. My wife swears by the Terry cycling shorts too.

Shebeest shorts rock (especially w/the 5" inseam). Terry does make a great spin short that I race in but I've found their regular cycling shorts are too bulky in the crotch. That may be a good thing, however, if you are 115, dribble and usually wear depends. :)

I also ride a Terry saddle and love it.

Good luck. Your wife is lucky to have someone putting this much thought and time into something special!

While my genital configuration disqualifies me from commenting from expereince on how well a woman's saddle may work, I am told by many of our female customers that the Serfas Dual Density women's saddle (unsure of current model name, may be the WDD Arroyo, they change the names each model year and it is difficult to keep up) is the saddle of choice. For shorts, we sell a fair number of the Pearl Izumi PRT Chamois women's shorts.

On my tri bike, I ride the Serfas women's pro saddle. Love it. On my road bike, I ride the Terry Butterfly Ti. Love it. Not sure if I switched them out, I'd like either so much.

Shorts: Pearl Izumi!

My wife rides the Terry DamselFly saddle on one bike and the Serfas saddle on the other. She tried the Terry Butterfly, but found it to be too wide for her. She prefers the Damselfly over the Serfas. Depending on your wifes make-up and riding preferences I would pick one of these. My wife has several pairs of the Terry shorts in different styles, but does not stop raving about the Pearl Izumi Micro-sensor shorts. I find the mens version is good for riding my road bike, but there is just a bit too much material up front when down on the aerobars. Instead of acting as more padding (as is needed) they just tend to bunch up and get uncomfortable for me.

My wife has a collection of saddles...likes one for a while, then it's history. I know the problem, I'm similarly afflicted. That pattern persisted last year on her road frame, however, she's found what she considers saddle Nirvana for her tri bike. She's using the women's saddle from John Cobb's shop, which basically a Terry Women's model which they have modified. She also uses a QR cover on it, and flat loves it. Trains on it all the time, and did two IMs on it last year without the ususal complaints. Here's the URL for the saddle, http://www.bicyclesports.com/accessories/seats.html, and by the way, there's no risk...if your wife doesn't like it, they'll take it back for a full refund. Good luck.

Is there a big big difference between the butterfly and the butterfly ti -- other than 50 grams and 40 bucks?
